I have been proud to be an advocate for NYC’s for-hire drivers for my entire career: supporting a bill for them to park where they need to for breaks, using the bathroom, or meeting other needs; and one that prevents rideshare companies from firing drivers without just cause.

Our community is formally calling for an investigation into serious procedural irregularities at 2501 86th Street. An asbestos inspection was certified despite credible evidence that no inspection occurred. The inspector involved has a documented pattern of violations.

On Yom HaShoah, we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. As the daughter and granddaughter of survivors, I carry these stories with me every day. As I shared this weekend at the Museum of Jewish Heritage’s commemoration at Temple Emanu-El, the antidote to hate is education — and with antisemitism rising, we must continue to remember and teach the lessons of the Shoah.

On Yom HaShoah, we commemorate the victims of the uniquely horrific crimes against humanity carried out by the Nazis and honor the six million Jewish lives lost. And we stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters in the urgent fight to crush antisemitism. #NeverAgain

The 86th Street Community Alliance demands the right to have 2501 86th street inspected for asbestos by a third party. The inspector was never seen at the property and has a history of violations. We call on DEP to grant the Alliance access to the site to ensure our safety!

SNAP benefits are stolen at alarming rates. I am proposing a bill to create a SNAP Anti-Fraud Officer who would identify where fraud is happening, create actions to stop it, and provide an annual report. We need someone who is accountable and this bill would create that position.
