Just about every time I agree to jump into an existing wordpress site for a client without a web team I end up regretting it. I have built 100 sites on wordpress but there are so many better, more reliable tools these days especially if you don't want to maintain a site. Unable to login to a clients site now because of a jet pack API error. What platform did you switch to after Wordpress?

@buddy7 I used Wordpress for nearly 2 decades but now make Astro sites myself. Mix of codex and cursor leveraging whatever models make the most sense for the task. Took a while to learn the tricks but heck every day it’s more intuitive.

@buddy7 Joomla is crazy good with Agentic coding - everythibg you need is already there (acl, multilang, email, schema, auth), secure and ready to get used by your apps. Easy to maintain, robust, experienced, community... no VC owners, ticks all boxes for the next generation of web AI apps

🚨 More real world outreach happening today. Flyers in hand. People onboarding. Communities learning about @ninjars_ and the wider @ElectroSwap_Dex ecosystem in real life, not just online. 🌍 This is what grassroots growth looks like. No fake hype. No massive VC budget. Just consistent effort, community energy, and people spreading the word one conversation at a time. ⚡ Most projects only exist on timelines. We’re building both online AND on the ground. 👀

@KnightLogics @fba Same, actually my Joomla sites is easiest to get to 100/100/100 - WordPress need a bit more work to get to the top but manageable

@cnorin @fba I have multiple websites that aren't static that score basically all 100's, so... This is actually the easy part..

Hasta la vista, WordPress! There's no need for us to keep paying plugins we don't need, optimizing servers' redis, hopping through server cache and who-knows-what-other-thing-I've-tried to keep the performance barely decent. My current Content tech Stack: Claude Code + Github + Railway + JS If I need a CMS: Strapi.

@fba You should give Simply Static a go then - they never fail for me. You can have SEO Framework, a Page Builder (with AI tools), multiple editor and a 100/100/100 score. Best of both worlds.

@cnorin I never got to make any of these plugins work nicely without heavy development involvement. Also, you don’t need to burn anything to update meta descriptions. Alas, you can still use WP as the CMS if you like.

I’ve rebuilt enough sites to know redirects can make or break a launch, so I built 301 Redirect Matcher to speed up the painful URL-matching work without skipping review. webbproffs.se/nyheter/nytt-v…

Can anyone recommend a dead simple, easy to use notetaking app based on markdown files? Obsidian is far too complicated for me. I'm looking for Apple Notes, but with markdown storage

Hot take: WordPress won big on a simple idea: a small core, massive plugin ecosystem. That made perfect sense when development was slow, expensive, and limited to a few. Joomla took the opposite path. More built into the core, less reliance on third parties. Heavier to start with, but more complete out of the box. Now the landscape is shifting. When you can build features yourself with AI, the value of plugins drops. At the same time, the value of a stable, well integrated foundation goes up. And that foundation matters more than people think: consistent ACL across the system, built in user management, native custom fields, REST API ready, CLI for automation, solid SEO out of the box, structured data support, multilingual at the core, redirect handling, centralized mail templates, GDPR awareness, and user logging for traceability.

Small, utility WordPress plugins are not dead but they will see a decline Just had ChatGPT write me one that sets the menu_order to the highest current value for any new Doc article I write so it appears at the end of lists instead of the top

One thing I keep coming back to with AI in web development is that speed matters less than what the code is built on. That’s part of why Joomla feels relevant again: a solid foundation makes AI work much better. webbproffs.se/kunskap/l%C3%A…

SEO fungerar fortfarande 2026. #SEO

One thing I keep seeing in web projects: SEO isn’t something you add at the end. Less traffic doesn’t always mean less visibility now that AI answers more questions directly, so I focus on building clear, useful sites instead. webbproffs.se/kunskap/l%C3%A…
