Not every night you see a Larned Grad vs a TMP grad on opposite benches! Pretty cool!

6A STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 🌧️ Over the weekend, the state’s highest classification had some new and familiar faces leave Rim Rock Farm with some hardware on Saturday. Junction City freshman Linden Pickler won her first state title in 18:37.27, picking up her first-ever high school win on the state’s biggest stage. In the team race, four-time defending champion Olathe West was challenged the most it has ever been during this run, but held on to take down both Washburn Rural and Shawnee Mission East, 80-80-84. West beat Rural on a tiebreaker, securing their fifth straight title. On the boy’s side, Olathe West’s Braxton Theel took down a field loaded with contenders, running 15:20.11, the fastest time of the day. This was There’s first-ever in-state cross country win, and just the second of his career. After years of coming oh-so-close to the state title, the Garden City Buffaloes finally prevailed, comfortably winning the program’s first title over Junction City and Shawnee Mission South, 66-101-104. Congratulations to all of the 6A runners and teams for a tremendous season! Next stop, Sioux Falls, South Dakota 📍A
