St. Petersburg Spartans win season opener 6-5, vs. a very good Clearwater Central Catholic team. Clearwater entered game with a 9-4 record. Stern & Ciamacco w/ 2 hits each. Young w/ 3 RBI’s. Slifkey gets the win, & Stern the save. Stern throws 3 inn., allowing 1 hit & 0 runs.
