Howard Garfinkel of five star camp fame, who gave hundreds of coaches our start, lived in this building at 65 W 55th street. Without him my life turns out very different. He passed away 10 years ago this month. Slice, Michael, and his son Sam were telling Garf stories after the game last night!

Went to Exhale spa at Thompson Hotel in NYC since I had time before flight.  All I can say is WOW!

After watching these two games the past two days, I am ready to start coaching my group! Wish we were starting tomorrow!!!!!! Lets goooo

What a game in OKC last night. I got to see my guys on both teams in the Western Conference Finals and I just landed in NYC to see more of my guys in the Eastern Conference Finals in Madison Square Garden tonight! I know it will be another crazy atmosphere and game, looking forward to it!

Was with Lorraine and Dickie V last night at his Gala. This guys spirit and passion is indescribable! We talked 20 minutes about his recruiting of Phil Sellers to Rutgers! Over 20 million raised for pediatric cancer research thru The Jimmy V fund. And I got to give Pam Valvano our annual hug! Seeing friends and doing good. Nothing better!   God bless you @DickieV

My friend and mentor from Lexington, PG Peoples, passed away yesterday. He leaves a legacy of bringing people together to move ALL forward. He was the President of the Urban League of Lexington and was one of the first people I met with. His accomplishments are too many to mention but the impact he had on people both young and old is amazing. He helped me build a program that brought people together and reached out to help people throughout the state. We had continued to talk weekly including yesterday morning. One of my favorite times of the year is almost here! Basketball camp registration is now open! I am excited to not only have Father/Son, Father/Daughter, and our day camps on campus but we are also taking camps on the road again!
