@coachcookie_ it’s awesome for stuff like bomb rush cyberfunk and pennys big breakaway in particular, since they futureproofed back on switch 1 by adding uncapped fps modes (so now they can do that while also running at 1080 handheld)

This is massive for indies, especially since most can't get their hands on a SW2 dev kit. Everyone just got a free boost to handheld SW2 performance

[Nintendo Switch 2 System Update] Version 22.0.0 adds "Handheld Mode Boost". This will make Switch 1 games think that they are in TV mode even when in handheld. Games can run at higher resolutions in TV mode, taking better advantage of the Switch 2's 1080p screen.
