OC/Head Coach/Play-callers…Never Believe for one minute it’s only YOU…Had a great season? Averaged 40 plus ppg? Labeled a GURU? Believed IT? Every Call was Magical? ….Wake Up…One player graduates, Is Injured?? One Assistant Coach leaves for a better paying job? One coach causes friction amongst the staff? Head Coach Becomes jealous of your publicity ? Coaches wives begin to gossip about your wife? You suddenly become a media star? You drink more? You don’t keep your health a priority? You feel invincible? Reality Dose…It’s never Just You!! One single fluctuation from that magical season or two or three can end your “Guru Status” overnight…Be Humble…Work Smarter…Give Praise to Everyone else publicly( Be blunt and correct staff when needed and fire when it’s the best solution for the team)…Be Grateful…Do Good for Others Who can Never Repay u…Ask Better Questions…ABT ( Always Be Teaching)…Never Let Correcting the most minute Detail “Slide By”… Make a Dramatic and Positive Difference in the lives of the young people u coach…Don’t be the typical phony who says “I love all my players” and then never connect with them again when they transfer or quit or struggle…Lifetime Coaching is a mixture of success and failures and everyone gets to watch u in public do both…Know who u are and then adjust when u are wrong or it isn’t working…Never forget as a coach, teacher, educator…Loyalty doesn’t mean blind following of the leader…Want to be loyal? Want Loyalty? Be Blunt and Brutally honest( to others and to yourself) and yet in a respectful manner to all leadership…But Blind loyalty to u or to anyone is failure and weakness…When someone honestly points out your flaws listen, be appreciative, and if they are correct be grateful they were strong enough to tell u…

Coaching matters. Arm talent is what it is. He threw 3 routes for a majority of the season all timing throws, That was coached! Will struggle with the variety of reads he will have to make and adjusting to timing but if coached properly Mendozas got what’s needed between ears

I did 4 tournaments as a coach for Trillion Boyz a couple years ago… The embarrassing & unprofessional nature of the coaches, referees, and even OT7 at times created such a toxic environment that I had to step away before I put my hands on somebody (including a coach on my own team) … Doing backflips in underwear after scoring on a 14 year old freshmen because you’re a 19 year old double hold back senior doesn’t make you good. And the recruiting sites that love to enable this toxic behavior at tournaments are just as much to blame. Yal love shoving the camera in these kids faces whether they score a TD, argue on the field, get in a fight, or even get hurt. It’s all for clicks. 7 on 7 football IS NOT REAL FOOTBALL and you’ll get ya feelings hurt thinking your kid is better than the rest because of what he does in a passing league with zero tackling. This shit was meant to be a way of creating a “travel ball” for football players outside of their respective seasons to gain further recruitment. Not the popularity contest you parents, recruiting sites, and coaches have turned this bullshit into. It’s sad to see honestly!

After 3 incredible years as Offensive Coordinator at Ottawa University I have accepted a new opportunity as WR Coach/Pass Game Coordinator at Hutchinson Community College. Ottawa will always be home. As a proud alum, I’m forever grateful for every player, coach, staff member, faculty, and supporters who made this journey so meaningful. The relationships built and lessons learned here will stay with me forever. A special thank you to @CoachNickDavis for the opportunity and belief in me—it truly meant everything. Thank you again to everyone who has been part of this chapter. Once a Brave, always a Brave.
