Have been to Oxford 5x over the past 3 seasons to call Ole Miss games. Have seen this team/program elevate first hand, and have spent much time talking to Lane, assistant coaches, the players responsible. This is the most balanced overall team Lane had in his 6 seasons, particularly on offense, and the 2025 defense has made steady improvement. I expect them to rally and be motivated to prove a point and finish what has been a tremendous 2025 season. They have some very high character players on that team, beginning with guys like Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy, who are both spectacular. I for one look forward to seeing them on the CFP stage! @OleMissFB

Varsity girls (7-3) knock off South Pontotoc 56-48 in day 2 of the Charger Classic at Oxford HS. Meg Barbour led the Lady Patriots with 20 points. Cate Bailey added 10. JP lead by as much as 18 before surviving a furious 4Q Lady Cougar rally. Happy Thanksgiving Prep Family!

To our fans, this team is completely locked in, living in the moment, and staying true to our 1-0 mindset for the Egg Bowl and future games. We are unbothered by anything about next year and fully trusting Coach Kiffin’s leadership to keep us moving toward our goals!

Varsity girls (4-2) extend the win streak to 3 with a 60-18 win over Central Hinds. Meg Barbour led the Lady Patriots with 22 points. Barbour, Maggie Bailey, Morgan Grimes, and Elise Williams with 5 rebounds each as JP was +22 on the glass. Prep did not allow an offensive board.

@newsflash131 @MAISfanGuy My understanding is that the football committee set up a system where it was basically mathematically impossible for the top 4 NOT to earn the four highest power point averages. I agree that the system could be improved.

@MAISfanGuy Parklane not being D1 is insane! The power points are ridiculous. If they wanted the top 4 in the same group they shouldve just let them play by themselves at the end without calling the previous 5A “D2”, or just put the best performing teams up top

Playoff Picture Feel good that 4A D1 will be 1 MRA 2 Hart 3 Prep 4 JA 4A D2 is messy. We "think" Starkville and OFA are in now with the 6 seed being between Copiah and Lamar. Parklane will be D2 #1 with either Mag or Heritage as #2. The 3 left out are MSJ, Bayou and ERA

@MAISfanGuy Brookhaven will have to jump 4 schools to get to D2. I’m not sure that’s mathematically possible but I have not done any calculations.

4A D2 and D3- Starkville and Brookhaven won the week. Starkville should now be in D2. Lamar and Simpson "lost" the week and both will most likely be D3 now. Heritage is legit. I know Mag beat them, but I think they are the top contender to Parklane.

Sunday Thoughts: POWER POINTS MUST GO! or be altered which I think will happen. Especially since the Jackson schools have experienced them for the first time and realize how crazy they are. AND they are crazy for 4A D1. Like dumb crazy.

@MAISfanGuy Copiah is currently #3 in 4A D2. Do your calculations make you feel they could fall to #6 and be fighting to stay out of D3?

*and if anyone has something different please let me know. I have had several people already let me know that have different seedings and I am currently double checking my math
