@FrancesBekafigo This is a picture of the aftermath of my father’s AC landing on his 7th mission on 8/5/44. Damaged AC, no hydraulics, one landing gear gave way, hit a parked AC. Navigator was only serious injury if the crew. Dad was Co-pilot and Byrd Ryland was Pilot

This is a Kimbolton airfield bomber, Lt KDW, my dad's base, 379th Bomb Group. Symbol triangle K. The coloring is not necessarily real, the photo could have been altered. I confirmed it became an assembly ship to aid in formation. At that point it would not carry bombs. #WWII

@FrancesBekafigo The photo of 337622 you have here is the AC my father was the co-pilot for on a mission to Hanover on 8/5/1944. 2nd Lt. James C. Denny was my father. Lt. Byrd Ryland was his Pilot for this and all but 2 of the 35 missions he completed with the 379th.

Next profile will be the 379th Bomb Group at Kimbolton airbase, England. Triangle K. Kimbolton is the base that Lt KDW, B-17 pilot, flew 25 missions from. Lt. KDW, a truant and high school drop out from Texas was my father. #WWII
