We held our first in-person workshop for the JFC x Protential Leadership Development Program this week, and it was an incredible start. The goal of this session was to introduce the program to our coach and teammate nominated leaders and give them space to shape it. We asked them what they need most, what leadership skills matter to them right now, and what should be built into the curriculum for future JFC LDP players. Their insight and honesty set the tone for what this program will become. This Sunday our LDP players will take another big step when they meet with former JFC player Colin Guske. Colin grew up in our club from ages 5 to 13 before moving to the Orlando City Academy, and his journey since has been remarkable. He has represented the United States at the youth national team level, competed in MLS, and played with and against world class talent, including World Cup champions and Champions League and Europa League winners. At 17 he trained with the senior US National Team under Greg Berhalter, and he has captained the United States in matches against countries like France and Japan. It’s a special opportunity for our young leaders to hear directly from someone who once stood in their shoes and has now lived the pathway they are beginning to explore. #PlayerDriven #904JFC

Jacksonville FC and the Armada FC Youth Academy are excited to welcome Johnny Torres, Head Coach of Creighton University Men’s Soccer, to our next College Recruiting Workshop this Friday, October 10th at 6 PM. A first-round pick in the 1998 MLS Draft and 9-year MLS veteran, Coach Torres is one of the most accomplished figures in college soccer. A two-time National Player of the Year and 1997 MAC Hermann Trophy winner, he helped lead Creighton to its first-ever College Cup as a player and later guided his alma mater back to the national stage as head coach. Now in his 7th season leading the Bluejays, Torres has developed multiple MLS draft picks and continues to inspire the next generation through his leadership, experience, and passion for the game. We are thrilled for our players, coaches, and families to learn from his journey and insights into the college recruiting process. #PlayerDriven #904JFC

We just wrapped up an amazing two-day Coaching Symposium with our JFC and Ancient City Soccer staff. From classroom sessions to on-field work, the weekend was filled with valuable conversations about how we can continue to grow, lead, and create the best environment for our players. A huge thank you to all the coaches who participated, and a special shoutout to Mark Sampson for his leadership and words of wisdom. The season is here, and we’re ready. #PlayerDriven #904JFC

ANNOUNCEMENT: Nathan Gavin Joins ECNL Staff We are proud to announce the promotion of Nathan Gavin to our ECNL Girls coaching staff, where he will lead the 2012 and 2013 ECNL teams effective immediately. Nate brings over 16 years of youth coaching and development experience, with stops in Texas, Virginia Beach, and Northern Virginia, and currently holds a USSF B License. His journey includes time as Head Coach of the All Navy Men’s Team from 2015 to 2018, and service on the United States Armed Forces Men’s Soccer coaching staff at the 2015 World Military Olympics in South Korea and 2017 Military World Cup in Oman. Since arriving at JFC, Nate has made a major impact on our ECNL RL program and has continued to influence the local game through roles with Bartram Trail High School (2021–2023), Beachside High School (2024), and now as Head Coach of the Bishop Kenny Girls Soccer Program, leading the team to the State Semifinal in his first year. "Nate Gavin’s promotion to ECNL is a testament to the impact he has had within our RL program. His energy, knowledge, and commitment to player development have been pivotal to our success. I am excited for what the future holds for our younger ECNL teams. Nate brings an environment where players will not only grow but thrive." Ron Messick, JFC Girls Director "It is with great pride after an extensive nationwide search that also included international candidates, we can now confirm the promotion of Nathan Gavin to our ECNL program. This serves as a testament to the work the club is doing developing coaches as well as players. Nate’s experience and qualifications are excellent, but it is his true teaching nature and his care that drew me to him as an educator of our youngest players. Coach Nate understands the important balance we want to strike between developing footballers and winning youth soccer matches in our ECNL Foundation Phase." David Gough, ECNL Girls Director At JFC we are committed to developing people, not just players. Coach Nate lives that mission every day. We are excited for what lies ahead. #PlayerDriven #904JFC
