@coasterbot @airtimetraveler exactly, and the value thing really just kinda depends on personal preference. for me at least, are Vengeance Gwazi and Velocicoaster 2x more valuable to a lineup then say, GoldStriker, Afterburn, Griffon? I would say yes

As a data analyst, I wanted to see what the best roller coaster lineups in the country would be purely based on data from @coasterbot. Here were the results.

@james_davis20 @airtimetraveler I think collecting data to inform the curve makes sense. It's a question of value at the end of the day. How many times better is #1 compared to #100, or even #10 compared to #200. Realistically the best coaster isn't 10 times better than the 100th coaster

@james_davis20 @airtimetraveler I agree - it's a good system to have How did you calculate it? Are there certain scores that pin the curve of best fit?

@coasterbot @airtimetraveler thank you! for a couple reasons: 1) to better reward a park for having an "exceptional" roller coaster, 2) in my opinion the gap between #1 (Steel Vengeance) and 500 (Tigris at BGT is 505) is a lot bigger than the gap between 500 and 1000 (Roar at SF America is 1018)

@EthanAfro Hey, I'd love to make some more operations videos to be honest! The hard part is getting the data. Maybe once Epic Universe is up and running I'll put out a request for people to collect data, and see if I can make a video from that?

@airtimetraveler This is very cool - I did some similar analysis a few years ago. It's no surprise CP comes out on top. I wonder how changing your scoring method impacts the results. There are a lot of quality rides in the 200 to 300 rank bracket that aren't really contributing to park's scores.

@hhn_jacob Interesting to hear this version is rough. The USJ one does throw you around but it's not rough at all. Maybe it's something the Epic version can sort out with tweaks over time?

Initial review of “Donkey Kong: Mine-Cart Madness” I’ll start by saying this was the first attraction we did yesterday and we were just over the moon excited to be at Epic Universe! I think this ride is honestly better to look at than ride but still a fantastic family attraction… but this thing is ROUGHHHHH. Like I don’t think I could’ve done it more than once if I wanted. The queue isn’t anything special, tons of outdoor switchbacks followed by indoor switchbacks. Highlight being the Cranky Kong and Squawks the Parrot animatronics. Ride uses continuous loading similar to Hollywood RRR to keep dispatches high, but this ride is going to suffer from low capacity. I believe the ride itself is the same as the one in USJ so watch a pov if you’d like to see more. I know there were LOTS of complaints about the indoor section and the “unthemed roof” when the first pov from Japan came out and I will say that wasn’t really noticeable unless you make a deliberate effort to look up. If you focus on the characters in front of you you’ll be ok. Oh, and you’ll HATE unchained then if you decide to look up 😂 Grade: B+ What I’d wait: 65 minutes

@Peter78745770 Yeah! I'm making a review of the Mine Cart Madness roller coaster in the new Donkey Kong area of Universal Japan. I also want to make a video that touches on how the recent evolution of fast pass has fundamentally changed the theme park experience. I have a few other ideas too

@cupcake_coaster - the construction of high capacity e-ticket rides to ensure these rides have manageable queues - the construction of small c/d ticket rides to soak up the remaining queues I think an example of this in play is the Efteling. It gets busy, but never feels unmanageable.

@cupcake_coaster This is a great blog and I'd agree. We've entered the world where expensive fast is the norm. I'd argue the real solution to minimising queues isn't virtual queueing, but instead: - the removal of fast pass which drastically hurts standby lines 1/2
