It took a moment for Anders to process the scene before him. It couldn’t be … that’s it ?? He marched over towards the plants that Fenris ripped from the ground, already fuming as he looked back up at him. “We went to all that effort, for that? That’s it?” When he asked, —

“And you were being particularly frustrating then, so I’ll attribute my lack of attention wholeheartedly to you.”

Anders completely pushed Fenris’ concerns aside when he saw the open mouth of the cave, quickly hurrying towards it. Finally, a bit of light! But if this was the mouth of the cave, where were they meant to go? Was this some sort of wild goose chase, or had Fenris only intended —

“ oh haha, very funny. I’ll be just fine against the spiders, thank you. never getting caught off guard again.”

Nod nod. Would he like some soup to dip?

“my strength? me? are you sure you’re well?” another blink, studying his blank expression. “and here I’d thought you were plotting my downfall.”

An uncomfortable chuckle passed his lips as he stood up, brushing himself off and pressing a hand to his aching forehead. “Forgive me for being the slightest bit distracted. We’re not all perfect.” Like you. It remains unsaid, intended as an insult, but he bites his tongue —

He wouldn’t have been surprised if Fenris ultimately did leave him for the spiders. But he was pleasantly surprised when he was … Saved. Even if he was a little scraped up by his less than graceful landing, face first on the rocks below. When he finally sat up and rubbed —
