A magnificent Lady Macbeth from Sondra Radvanovsky. She held the stage, demonstrating staggering breath control, striking use of dynamics and made her Lady M a much more rounded character than we often hear. At the end the Liceu gave its Queen a massive ovation.

Tatyana is the best thing I’ve heard from Sally Matthews. The intonation issues I’ve found in her singing previously were less apparent and she sang with real commitment and generosity. A delightful Olga from Lily Jørstad too who really used the text
