South Metro Dispatch is receiving an influx of 911 calls reporting smoke in SMFR’s District. Wildfires burning in Nebraska are creating a significant haze in the Denver metro area. Please only call 911 if you see flames.

Cool fact about @ChipotleTweets they gave the cop in front of me a discount, got to me and said oh discount too cuz of the badge then read firefighter and said oh wait we don’t do firefighters. I said well that’s not cool and they said sorry it’s company policy.

HB24-106 passed unanimously this morning reclassifying emergency dispatchers as first responders. SMFR personnel proudly contributed testimony in support of this historic vote. Colorado is now the 20th State to recognize emergency dispatchers for the work they do and the service they provide their communities.

This morning @PuebloWestFire responded to a vehicle vs building on S Purcell Blvd. No injuries were reported and Pueblo Regional Building deemed the building safe to keep open.
