Your app didn’t crash because of AI. It crashed because you never learned backend engineering. Most vibe coders can ship a beautiful SaaS. Very few can keep it alive when users actually show up. The real challenge starts after launch: → 100,000 users hitting the same endpoint → Database connections getting exhausted → Payment provider timing out → Retry storms making everything worse → Cache invalidation → Rate limiting abusive traffic → Zero-downtime deployments → Background jobs piling up Anyone can prompt an AI to build CRUD. Building infrastructure that survives launch day is a completely different skill. The best backend is invisible. Users never notice load balancers, queues, caching, or failover. They only notice when your app is down. That’s the difference between shipping a demo… and building software people can actually rely on.
