My college started a dsa accountability group. 47 people. shared google sheet. daily updates. public shaming if you miss a day.
week 1: 47 active
week 2: 41 active
week 3: 28 active
week 4: 12 active
month 2: 3 people. me, my roommate, and one guy who forgot to leave the group chat.
the problem wasn't motivation. People thought 44 people quit because they're lazy.
they quit because solving random problems with no structure feels like running on a treadmill blindfolded. sweating but going nowhere.
the 3 of us only survived because my roommate found thita(dot)ai. 90+ patterns. actual structure. you stop guessing which problem to do next because every problem maps to a pattern you're already building.
our sheet went from 'solved 2 randoms today' to 'finished sliding window pattern, 7 problems, all clicked.'
people don't quit dsa because it's hard. they quit because nobody gave them a map

today my favourite competitive programmer followed me back.
sounds small, but for someone building my own LeetCode, this genuinely means a lot.
he has been a huge motivation behind how I think about problem solving, consistency, and building for programmers.
5 things competitive programming taught me while building my own LeetCode:
problems should teach, not just test
constraints make people think better
good editorials are as important as good questions
consistency beats one-time brilliance
the best platforms are built by people who deeply love the craft
grateful for this moment today.
back to building.

I accidentally clicked on an ad for the AstroTalk app and checked it out out of curiosity.
I was shocked to see it has a 4.6 rating on the Play Store.. with over 1 million reviews.
Then I checked their valuation.. it’s around $1.5 billion 💀
I mean.... whattttttt ??
Are there real users who have actually benefited from it?
they literally claim they can tell everything based on your date of birth..
How is that even practically possible ???
