When asked to go through lots of historical and sociological data, it has never offered an interpretation that is interesting or novel. It organizes the information in predictable and useful ways, and is very helpful for saving time, but this thing is not thinking.

I'm a little more skeptical of AI since working with Claude on a social science project. It's very good at building what you ask it to, but it doesn't generate original idea. It regurgitates clichés, but that makes sense bc LLM is basically a cliché machine in principle

consciousness arises as a result of pre-reflexive intentional activity, the activity that is inherent in the "I" as absolute-deed. people are not conscious because in ordinary life, thinking itself is unobserved; the products of thinking are conflated with the activity itself (condition of experience). in ordinary consciousness, what confronts us as an object that is "other" to us and not produced by our own activity is accepted as that which precedes our own cognitive process. when i think upon an object, my attention is focused solely upon it. when i am preoccupied in this way, i attend to the object as opposed to my own activity. yet this object as a percept (phenomenal result) can only appear when mediated by our activity pre-reflexively. i pay no heed to my own thinking, but to the object (product) of my thinking. fichte says "they never self-actively produce, determine, and arrange their representations, but merely dream a long dream, a dream determined by the obscure course of the association of ideas" because of the foregoing where thinking does not turn back upon itself.

Curious passage where Fichte suggests some people aren’t “properly speaking” conscious. On the very next page he relates consciousness to rationality. I wonder what’s going on there and whether he elaborates on it in Foundations of Natural Right

the 'conscious intent' here that we must expound upon is the intentional contemplation of our thinking. the universe is alive because it arises through the mediation of our thinking, otherwise there cannot be a universe at all—for we cannot know anything outside of thinking as condition. we discover things such as necessity and lawfulness through this activity that articulates what is inherent in the world-picture. specifically, it is not only that the "I" is a witness, but actively participates in the disclosure of the world, and it is only through this "I" that there is any cognized reality.

Okay, "Everything is entombed in some level of consciousness. Not in so far as awareness but in that there is a necessity in all things to be held together by the willful output of a conscious intent. Or; in any other sense, the universe is alive on every level as there must be a witness for any and all happenings." I'm working on it.

the fact that the human urge to anthropomorphize/the animist urge to give everything a spirit/the childlike urge to give stuffed animals inner lives and personalities are all inherent could be less so a fallacy and more so indicative of an informational field that we are tapping into where yes, everything has a mind, and we belong to one class of mind which is itself not dissimilar to the others moreover, the impulse to recognize other minds seems to be mutually beneficial, and makes us better at navigating the world in many contexts, as people who treat their cars or computers as having personalities often maintain them better. But i could be tweaking

Allow yourself to simply feel the feeling of being “the chosen one” without intellectualizing it, which will cause you to narcissistically flatten others. The feeling of being the chosen one is truth because in a higher dimension it is true that you are “chosen” and unique/world shifting in your soul purpose.
