Monster Hunter Outlanders is not “Monster Hunter turned into a gacha.” It feels more like Genshin Impact turned into Monster Hunter. It has the structure down to a T: 5 monthly discounted pulls, character-based progression, leveling, skill upgrades, open-world mini-games, and yes, a dupe system. Palicos are basically the “signature weapon” equivalent, while each Hunter has their own full kit inspired by Monster Hunter weapons, but pushed way more toward hack-and-slash character gameplay. And the dupe system is point-based, where extra copies turn into special skill points that unlock stronger skill upgrades. So yeah, this is not just Monster Hunter with a banner slapped on it. This is a full gacha action RPG wearing Monster Hunter’s skin.
