“38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39
the lie: “i feel so far from God” is not true- it’s our mind giving into delusional lies. while it may feel like that, our faith is not based upon feelings guided by our own heart that deceives us daily!
once we are in Christ, there is nothing we can do to separate us from Him.
here’s your reminder to take those thoughts captive, loved one.
every guy/ girl won’t always think you’re attractive.
our value goes beyond what human beings think. our purpose is for His glory.
take those thoughts and remember why He created you in the first place. for Him!
God has forgiven the sin in your life that you thought disqualified you. but we must remember that this forgiveness is not because we’ve cleaned up just enough until the next time- no! it’s purely because His grace is unearned & unmerited.
Girl- you are not put on this earth for every man to find you attractive and desirable.
Boy- you are not put on this earth for every woman to find you attractive and desirable.
holiness is not just going to happen as you get older.
holiness is going to slowly happen as you abide in the spirit of God, put to death the things of your flesh, and forgive the people who don’t deserve it.
believer,
it’s better to have a small number of friends than to have many friends who cause you to stumble in your journey with Christ.
who we surround ourselves around have a huge impact on what we believe, what we believe about ourselves, and our everyday choices.
be around people who spur you on towards good works.
be around people who exhort you to Christ.
be around people who call you to deeper repentance and obedience.
be around people who celebrate the gifts the spirit has given you.
be around people who lead you to holiness.
ladies, there ARE other women who struggle with sexual sin.
pornography
masturbation
lust
sex addiction
sexting
adultery
sexual immorality is not just a man’s sin. let us confess our sins to one another and let the hope of the gospel wash over our guilt-filled hearts!
hot take:
you can’t justify your idolization of marriage & relationships by saying “it’s a God given desire!”
there’s a difference between a
Godly desire & idolization. usually when someone gets overtly defensive, it’s a clear answer of which one is taking place in the heart.
believe it or not:
being single doesn’t mean your life is lacking. being single doesn’t mean that your life is less fulfilled than your married friends. being single has advantages that marriage doesn’t.
don’t give into the lie that you need someone to complete you.
let us never make the gospel mundane. it is a humbling reality we as believers live in.
and in that undeserved love that we have received, we love others.
jesus came to die & save you from all the secret sins you would never dare tell anyone. he came, when he never had to leave the throne. he came for you & i. he came, was resurrected, now sitting with the Father, interceding for those who place their trust in Him as savior.
