The White House is in talks over a potential pardon for Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, who served 4 months in prison after pleading guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act.
CZ paid $50 million in fines and stepped down as CEO, while Binance shelled out $4.3 billion and agreed to anti-money laundering reforms.
A pardon could clear CZ’s felony record, reverse state bans on Binance, and set him up for a return to power.

@LauraLoomer I highly doubt it will happen, Charles didn't provided any sources or proof. On top of that, CZ is an Emirati citizen, why would he need a Pardon if he already served his 4 months sentence?

Why would anyone think it’s a good idea to give a pardon to @cz_binance, a Chinese national with Emirati citizenship??

You know who gets Emirati citizenship when they weren’t born in the UAE?
People who are trying to evade punishment for crimes.

SCOOP: People close to @cz_binance, the former @binance chief who spent some time in the can amid the Biden Admin's crackdown on all things crypto, say discussions inside the White House are heating up on the possibility of a pardon from @realDonaldTrump. Many Trump insiders believe the fraud case against Changpeng Zhao, known in the digital space simply as CZ, was pretty weak, and certainly not something that merited a felony charge and jail time. Trump, these people say, is leaning toward a pardon, which could set the stage for CZ's return to the crypto exchange since he remains Binance's largest shareholder. Some in the White House are worrying about the optics of a pardon given the president's business interests in crypto. That said a decision is said to be soon. Keep in mind these things often drag on longer than expected and this president does have more pressing matters that he's dealing with like getting the Israeli hostages returned, ending the broader Gaza conflict, as well as the one in Ukraine on top of tariffs and a trade deal with China. Biggest rule fight in the history of Polymarket is brewing, and will come to a head in the next few hours.
The Ethereum ETF market has $11m in volume. The market is 5x larger than the previous biggest rules fight (the missing submarine being located). That disparity will only grow, and may reach 8x.
There are hundreds of comments fighting over whether both an 19b-4 SEC approval (expected today) and an S-1 SEC approval (unclear when done) are needed.
I'm extremely biased, as I have a huge position in the market [on the correct side imo!]. There are dozens upon dozens of users with over $10k riding on the outcome.
The market seems to distill down to NO buyers citing research, news stories, interviews, and past precedent on Polymarket, whereas YES buyers are counting on the incoming 19b-4 approval headlines to be enough.
I actually have no clue what Polymarket will do, but it will have huge ramifications for their platform and prediction markets, generally.

The iShares Bitcoin Trust has been listed on the DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, which clears NASDAQ trades). And the ticker will be $IBTC. Again all part of the process of bringing ETF to market.. h/t @martypartymusic
