I have worked so hard in Jan, writing, podcasting, content creation. Now I have been struck down with pneumonia and if feels like I’ve hit a giant brick wall. *climbs under heated blanket and sobs

@abcdiagnosis It’s like one of Dante’s circles of hell - thankfully pharmacists at my surgery are great - it’s the GP side that’s pants

I don’t get this 👇 GP surgery when you ring up you are triaged on the phone with “email the issue” I email & ask for the pharmacist to give me a call to be told... “Ring the surgery to make an appointment” 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

There’s been progression of my secondary breast cancer. Paclitaxel didn’t work for long. And so we move on, to eribulin. Let’s hope it does a better job. In my mind I am swearing very, very loudly. More in my latest blog post: bit.ly/3E0MUdJ

@FeedleFi Sending a hug - I only lasted a few days on them as the side effects worse than the anxiety - my mum took a long time to come off them to minimise the withdrawal effects - hope it eases soon x

Sometimes it’s easy to shout these things into cyberspace. I’m struggling. Coming off these antidepressants is horrific. I’m lightheaded, still irritable (cuffed Pukey round the head earlier & am racked by shame & guilt), vivid vivid dreams, a sense of detatchment & other (cont)

@MaureenKenny1 I restarted iv chemo end of August too with taxol in the mix - it’s tougher than I remember - hope things aren’t too bad with you as taxol isn’t my favourite drug.

@FeedleFi Inevitable consequence of underfunded and unjoined up health service - obvious some would get post viral issues ( me for one ) and equally obv those with cancer have ongoing complex needs - both unmet and everything becomes patient’s responsibility in absence of care

cut & diverted elsewhere. Look Covid has been a clusterfuck, no 2 ways about it, but living with cancer is pretty bloody awful. I just don’t understand how we’ve essentially lived with a cancer pandemic for generations & it’s just accepted for what it is. We need better treatment

I know this is from the Daily Fail but overlooking that, can I just draw your attention to the fact that this is the way most cancer patients live & we don’t get these sorts of headlines. We don’t get a daily death count. We have had treatments & diagnosis delayed, funding (cont)

@MaureenKenny1 There was a recent discussion on the ovarian c forum I use. The majority felt very much like yourself. Several contacted Macmillan and got brushed off. It’s a case of good intention not being enough sometimes when the intended beneficiaries find it trivialises their experience.

I try not to get upset by it but I detest #bravetheshave. It's a good #cancer #charity fundraiser and the people who do it have the best of intentions. But it's so false and what I really want to say to them is "now you need to lose your eyebrows, nose hair, pubic hair... 1/2

Angela is gone. At home comfortable. How lucky I am to have been loved by her. She was gorgeous compassionate tenacious and formidable. But not fearless: she was 47 and not ready to go. My god; what a fight! Death is missing an arm and a leg. Rest easy sweetheart. And thank you X

1/Since I had the lung cancer last year my cancer ptsd has ramped up to struggling levels, today's scan has really fucked me up mentally in a way they never did before. Guess now I know it can happen the fear is heightened, well the fear wasn't there before
