@leonthelion_69 Who knows, but the guard says the line "Hyvää päivää, herra tasavallan presidentti" all the time. That's why I'm a bit unsure about what they are saying. Brezhnev was not a president in the same sense. Also, you can hear the translator being cut off by the guard.

@leonthelion_69 Brezhnev says "I wish you health, Finnish warriors," as already stated. The guard says: "Good day, Sir Brezhnev" or "Sir President." Can't quite make that out.

@nicomnie The rails are likely for carts used to deliver ordnance. Finland did use armored trains during WW2 and the interwar period. I am not aware of their use in the post-war period.

@coldwarfinland That looks like the entrance to a bunker for an armored train. Did Finland ever have armored trains?

@GrafDanilow Could be even "brand new" in the picture. As Finland ordered new ones from West Germany in 1955 (and later from Sweden).

@Lusmuu RPD. Puolustusvoimat hankki jonkun tuhannen kappaletta ennen kuin kotimainen kevyt konekivääri saatiin käyttöön. Ei nähnyt syystä kummemmin palveluskäyttöä.

@vasir_berpasir They were removed from active service as training vehicles by the mid-1960s, and from wartime formations perhaps much earlier. And as static defences, by the late 1980s. The last shots were allegedly fired in 1978. x.com/coldwarfinland…

@coldwarfinland How long StuG was in Finnish Service post war, both active and reserve/static defenses. Also how they maintain the ammo for the 75mm since well, kinda nobody make them anymore after the war aint it
