@ColemanUSA It’s disappointing to see low-quality coolers being sold with a “10-year warranty,” only for the warranty to be changed to 1 year when customers actually need support. No replacement offered and no accountability.

@colemanUSA, are you aware of the horrendous quality and absolutely BONE-HEADED design choices being implemented on campers bearing your brand?! I have a 2023 Coleman Lantern 17R that has been nothing but a nightmare from day one. First, the roof was messed up. The sealant on the forward edge of the roof membrane was improperly mixed and never fully cured. Upon inspection, @campingworld in Biloxi, MS found out that the ENTIRE ROOF had to be replaced due to numerous manufacturing defects (holes in the membrane, screws poking through, poorly sealed roof vents, etc. Instead of repairing it, they chose to replace it. It was that bad. Shortly afterward, problem 2 developed: every single outlet in the camper went out, except the one GFI master located in the forward end of the kitchen cabinet. That was a whole year of inconvenience and frustration before I finally managed to get it to a dealership that was willing to look into it. During this time, problems numbered 3, 4, and 5 developed: 3- The air conditioner started leaking inside the camper every time it was turned on. I started poking around to figure out why, and it was quickly obvious: the drain pan was improperly installed, improperly sized, and completely inadequate for the task of catching the condensation and routing it overboard. There was water inside the wall, dripping out of the AC cabinet, and pouring onto the bed. I had to fix that one myself because guess what? Camping World wouldn't send a mobile tech to Homestead, FL to look at it. I had to reposition the AC unit, remove and PROPERLY install the outer drain pan lip so it wasn't between the siding and the frame, then fabricate MY OWN drain pan extension, install it, and seal it. All this was well within the warranty period, mind you, but again, your "trusted partners" at Camping World wouldn't lift a finger to help me. 4- The ball valve in the toilet failed and made my camper smell like an open septic tank, because I literally had one INSIDE MY BATHROOM. I had to fix that one myself, too, by experimenting with slightly different O-rings until I found one that fixed the problem, because ONCE AGAIN, the "3 YEAR WARRANTY" didn't cover anything inside the camper. You know, like the refrigerator, lights, AC, toilet, all the stuff that one would think SHOULD be covered. That is some seriously shady BS, Coleman. 5- The roof vents got warped somehow, probably due to being in made of the cheapest, most flimsy, third-rate crap materials one can imagine, and failed to seal properly. Of course, I didn't notice the issue until about three days into a week long rain storm, when water started pouring out of the ceiling directly over my dining table. I had to remove the vent bezels, pull the paneling down to drain about 3 gallons of water out of the ceiling, then install and run a secondary dehumidifier for a week to get rid of the moisture left behind. Because YES, that's right, Camping World did jack and shit to help me because I was "too far from their closest dealer." AGAIN, the roof vents weren't covered by the BS "warranty," and I had to fix those myself by more or less permanently closing them with zip ties around the little scissor jack thing that opens and closes them. I can still open them when I need to, but it's a real pain in the ass. So yeah, good job on that. Now, back to problem 2: When I finally managed to get it back to the one location that would even attempt to troubleshoot the electrical fault (that ebing the dealership that sold it to me: Camping World in Biloxi, MS), the "technician" they had on staff was convinced that the main power distro box was the culprit. While I am not a certified electrician, I have wired several houses and made my own repairs more times than I can count. I am very well versed in electrical troubleshooting techniques, and I knew that the GFI was tripping because there was a dead short from tension to ground in the Romex that runs from the primary GFI outlet, across the unit to the outlets on the curb side. I knew this because I disconnected every outlet in the circuit COMPLETELY and tested between each and every wire in each and every run until I found continuity between the aforementioned wires, which when completely disconnected from BOTH ENDS, should have been an open circuit. I then had to drive an hour out of my way to demonstrate this to the Camping World techs personally before they would believe me. Once they saw what was wrong, they tore into the unit and found the culprit, which they claimed was an improperly driven staple that had compromised the Romex and shorted the wires out. I still think they drove a screw into the feed when they replaced my roof, because all the outlets had been working fine before that, but they fixed it for free, so I let it go. BUT- they also damaged my ceiling and tried to hide it with a piece of white masking tape. Now we're on problem 6, and it is the absolute DUMBEST, most asinine design flaw I have ever seen: My camper's water supply is frozen as I am typing this. I can't cook, can't use the toilet, can't shower. All because some COMPLETE MORON decided to route the primary PEX water line UNDER THE FLOOR, where there is no insulation to be found. Yep, someone decided that this camper didn't need insulation under its floor deck. There's the floor deck, made of OSB, then about 4 inches of air, and then some kind of synthetic fabric stretched across the frame like a drum head. That's bad enough; I mean, how much money did Dutchmen/Keystone save by deciding to f@*k over your customers, Coleman? Anyway, the white PEX service line that runs from the water tank compartment to the sink, shower, and toilet is in this completely uninsulated space, where it can be frozen solid, and there isn't a god damned thing I can do to get it thawed out. Moreover, when I accessed the water tank and pump compartment in the forward left corner of the unit, I found an obscene amount of sawdust and drill tailings covering the entire floor. There is a huge hole in the deck where the PEX line runs through, and no attempt was made to seal it up. Not even expansion foam. It's just wide open so the bugs can crawl right inside. The power feed for the 12V water pump is routed through a hole that looks like someone couldn't be arsed to get a drill, so they decided to beat a hole in the paneling with ball-peen hammer, or maybe they just shot it with a large bore handgun. There are huge splinters of wood sticking out. It seriously looks like the exit side of a wooden pistol target. Dutchmen/Keystone and the people building these things obviously do not give a single flying shit about the build quality. You seriously need to go hammer on their collective ass and find out why they are screwing your brand over so badly. I bought this camper because I thought I could trust the Coleman brand. I've had thermoses, lunch boxes, stoves, coolers, your signature lanterns, sleeping bags, and all other kinds of camping gear made by Coleman throughout my life, and they were always tough, reliable, high quality, rugged pieces of gear. This camper, however, is a pile of utter TRASH. I'm not saying it's your fault. Chances are you leased the rights out, or maybe even sold them for some residuals. You probably have zero input in terms of design, fit, finish, furnishings, or anything else in the lineup. But the fact remains that your name, the name that many people have trusted for camping gear for decades, is being disrespected and exploited by whatever group of mouth-breathing, booger-eating simpletons is designing and building the campers with YOUR LOGO ON THEM. You might want to look into what the hell is going on.

@justice_Tyr22 Can someone from @ColemanUSA weigh in on the lifespan one could expect using this method? I’m not trying to be a bummer, but this feels WELL outside the range of recommended usage to me…like, say, eating Tide pods or something.

I've never heard of his. "Cooler Corn" is a popular method for cooking corn on the cob, especially when you need to prepare a large quantity for a gathering. The process involves using a clean, empty cooler (the kind you typically use for keeping drinks cold) and boiling water. “Over the weekend I was blind-sided by the simple genius of this method for cooking loads of corn on the cob perfectly. A Coleman cooler appears from the garage, is wiped clean, then filled with the shucked ears. Next, two kettles-full of boiling water are poured over the corn and the top closed. Then nothing. 30 minutes later open it, the corn was perfectly cooked. My mind was blown. And I'm told that the corn will remain at the perfect level of doneness for a couple of hours. Turns out, Cooler Corn is pretty well known among the outdoorsy set. But for those of us who avoid tents as much as possible, it's perfect for large barbecues and way less mess than grilling. In fact, I may even buy another cooler just so I'm ready for next summer. Now that I'm in the know." 🌽🌽🌽
