Justin Fields is exactly what the Jets offense needs in a QB Why? Let's look into it: He elevates everyone around him. RB'S, WR'S, TE'S all have career years with Fields. First, the Chicago Bears were the number 1 and number 2 rushing team in back to back years in the NFL because of Justin Fields. Justin Fields elevated the run game, and gave the runningbacks good production. Khalil Herbert who is now a 3rd string RB, had a league leading yards per carry with Justin Fields. (5.7) Justin Fields was leading the league in passing touchdowns in 2023 before he got injured. He was on pace for Lamar Jackson unanimous MVP numbers. Let that sink in. In 2024 last year, Justin Fields was on pace for less than 5 interceptions, and 20+ passing and 12+ rushing touchdowns in Pittsburgh. Now, let's look at how Fields recievers did with and without Fields at QB: Cole Kmet (Bears TE) had 719 recieving yards and 6 touchdowns with Fields. Justin Fields gave Cole Kmet 2 great years, and gave him a contract extension. Cole Kmet looked like a nobody last year with Caleb Williams at QB. Cole Kmet had multiple 0 reception games with Caleb Williams. D.J Moore (Bears WR) had 96 receptions, 1364 yards, 9 touchdowns with Fields. Fields missed 5 games, meaning Moore was on pace to be a top 3 reciever that year. D.J Moore had 230 recieving yards, and 3 recieving touchdowns in a game in 2023. D.J Moore earned an extension because of Fields. D.J Moore looked worse with Caleb Williams at QB last year. Pat Freiermuth (Steelers TE) was on pace for a career year with Justin Fields. Fields used him well, Freiermuth also got a contract extension. Najee Harris (Steelers RB) had a great start last year, and looked way different when Justin Fields wasn't in the game. Fields used him well in the recieving game. Calvin Austin III (Steelers WR) also had a good few games with Justin Fields. Calvin Austin is mainly a special teams guy. Justin Fields delivered some great passes, one being a 55 yard touchdown. Gave Calvin Austin III a career high 95 recieving yards in a game, along with a touchdown. Justin Fields always makes winning plays as well. He can escape sacks and turn them into gains. He can turn 3rd downs into 1st downs with his rushing ability. Whenever Justin Fields is in the redzone, his rushing ability is like a "Get Out Of Jail" card, and it leads to touchdowns that shouldn't be possible. So what does this all mean? Garrett Wilson will have a career year with his former college QB, and Tight Ends Mason Taylor and Jeremy Ruckert will be used well. Running backs will also have an easier time running the ball, and will have an increase in recieving production as well. Justin Fields also has the best offensive line he's ever had.
