I will be voting for Jim Jordan to be Speaker of the House on the floor when the vote is called. In conference, Jordan received 99 votes and Scalise received 113. We had a chance to unify the party behind closed doors, but the Swamp and K Street lobbyists prevented that. The American people deserve a real change in leadership, not a continuation of the status quo.

I’ve told my voters in #CO03 and the American people from Day 1 that I will work relentlessly to cut spending and change the way Congress works. A promise is a promise. We are now as a country $33 trillion in debt. The same old process doesn’t work; my district and the American people deserve better than an omnibus or CR. The House has now passed 4 appropriations bills that fund over 70% of the government and I’ve voted YES on all of them to pay our troops, fund veterans’ care and benefits, and secure our border. The Senate has not passed anything. I’m still committed to getting all 12 appropriations bills to the floor of the House as we promised we would do in January. Americans deserve to see us follow through on that promise.
