Bane was my favorite Grizzly of the last iteration of the Grizzlies. Always played hard, doesn’t pout, never quit on the team, and brings it despite his physical limitations. 0 drama. Plays hurt. Could not say the same for JJJ or Ja. Hope he continues to have playoff success.

Grizzlies haven’t been relevant in almost 3 years. Wild to see what players are having amazing playoff success. Our guys weren’t good enough. And weren’t ever going to be. So it was blown up. And some folks still trying to hold on. Memphis homerism is a disorder.

@NathanChester24 Penny has never endeared himself to donors nor has he given any return on their investments over the past 7 years. He also would have cost too much to fire. I don’t think it’s nefarious, but also, Penny could have stepped away at any time.

As someone who’s been pretty critical pf Penny Hardaway over the years, I’ll say this: If what I’m reading and hearing about Memphis’ NIL situation is true, then Ed Scott is setting him up to fail and should have just fired him a month ago.

Grizz twitter used to be a more sophisticated bunch. One of the most intelligent in the league. This Ja fandom over the team, the hypothetical “if he stays” conversations still going on are wild. It is impossible to engage in good faith anyone who became a fan after GNG.

Waxing poetically about a dude who quit on the team, and the fans, at a home game that was winnable is insane to me. That not being the first time he quit mid game is also insane to me.

This is the real reality. Your “big 3” were not enough. Mostly because of Jaren’s inability to become a 1/2 option and Ja’s unavailability due to himself and injury.
ᴄᴏʟᴇ@CREAMYCOLE

We weren’t winning a chip with the current core unless God himself stepped in to prevent injuries It’s the way of the NBA. Bane’s contract was too high and locked us down due to the new CBA, and once he was gone the duo of Ja&Jaren wasn’t enough to get over the hump.

@jkam12 I’m sorry if you think they told Ja Morant he couldn’t give a jersey away. There is no chance they did that.

What a complete load of shit and a probably a bullshit statement from a certain camp. They probably just didn’t let him know about it since they’re clearly at irreconcilable odds. Scoopb tho
Fullcourtpass@Fullcourtpass

During the Grizzles last home game every player gave their jersey to a fan as a gesture of gratitude, except for Ja Morant Morant was notified just one hour before tip-off that he would not be participating in the giveaway, leaving him without a jersey to provide (Via @ScoopB)

Grizzlies fans mostly don’t want to admit that the combination of Ja/Bane/Jaren simply wasn’t good enough. It also means we likely will never play for a ring with a built and not bought roster. ….FO had some blunders, Zaire and Smart are the egregious ones. Your 3 weren’t enough

@ohokvontae @PAKA_FLOCKA Trae’s fall off is kind of wild but dude was the number one guy on a ECF team, averaged 29 and 9 in the playoffs and had a 48/11 game in the ECF.

Interesting conversation. This new wave of diminishing what Trae Young accomplished in his short time as one of the best PGs in the league is a little disingenuous. I mean, hindsight is 20/20 but he led his team to the ECF and was the best player in multiple playoffs series. 4 time all star. 2 times as a starter. Jaren Jackson is not that level of star. Respectfully… He has the chance to pass Trae but to this point he has not come close. Even with Trae’s “fall off” and defensive woes. You can argue Jaren’s fouling and playoff woes are just as much of a liability. I’d be willing to debate this one honestly.

If you’re bored, you’re boring. That applies no matter where you are. If you can’t have a good time in Memphis or anywhere else, that’s on you.

LeBron (and his peers) trashing Memphis to his golf bros is corny. The city deserves better from these brothers. I want yall to hear every word of this.
