“Why did the chicken cross the road?” “To get to the other side,” came the answer.” Even as a child I didn’t find it funny. Grown up now, I’ve seen the light. The chicken crossed the road to explore new worlds and new horizons. And now thanks to @elonmusk we are going to Mars.

It’s a fabulous London sunset @christopherhope I have a story: why it’s named Blackfriars’s Bridge. Blackfriars Bridge and its surrounding district are named after the Dominican friars who established a major priory in that area of London in 1276.  ‘The Black Friars’ was the common nickname for the Dominican Order of friars / monks. The nickname refers to the black-cloak that the friars wore over their white habits. The Black Friars. When the first bridge opened in 1769, it was officially named William Pitt Bridge after the Prime Minister. However, Londoners preferred the name of the local district, and "Blackfriars Bridge" eventually became the official title.

A good suggestion by @WilliamShatner - roads embedded with magnetic strips for dynamic wireless EV charging. I’ve read they have experimented the technology in pilot stages in: parts of Europe, and United States: Detroit, Michigan; the first wireless charging public road in the US since late 2023, consisting of a quarter-mile stretch of embedded coils.  Fascinating🖖
William Shatner@WilliamShatner

If they built highways with magnetic strips in the concrete that allowed you to charge on the go; that would be a game changer. Aren’t the new taxis able to charge magnetically‽

oh my goodness, that’s lovely. Thank you for the post @JessePeltan Traditional clothing is a good idea. Zhuang women in embroidered, elegant attire celebrating their March holiday in Guangxi, China, is dazzling beautiful.
Jesse Peltan@JessePeltan

We should revive traditional clothing. So many cultures have really cool traditions and manufacturing techniques shaped by local materials and climate. Everything has become so homogenized now that many people don’t even know how their ancestors dressed.

Guangxi gets a 4-day official holiday for the Zhuang ethnic group in March. Because in China, minorities have their own holidays, and these are respected under the law.

When I saw the headline: ‘Amazing energy in North London’ I thought @SadiqKhan @UKLabour was posting about Spurs. 🐓 But no. Imagine my disappointment 😥when I read that Mayor of London, Khan was writing about the celebration of the end of Ramadan by the sighting of the new moon. Problem is… you can’t see a new moon. A new moon is in the sky during daytime, Okay I get it, people look for the first tiny crescent to appear in the western sky just after sunset. The Difficulty: Tonight is expected to be very challenging "naked-eye" sighting from the UK. And from north London, with all that light-pollution, you are unlikely to see it. Anyway, if you are celebrating: Have a nice time. Meanwhile in N17 Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for thier home match against Nottingham Forest, Sunday, 22 March 2026, scheduled kick off at 2:15 pm UK time GMT). All together. All together now. C’mon you Spurs 🐓 V Nottingham Forest Football Club @NFFC.

Warm beer and warm fridges. Ed Miliband renounced religion and replaced it with a super-fanatical faith-based green agenda. Whatever rational facts put before Ed, he is intransigent and completely unwilling to acknowledge the evidence or data. Care for our planet-yes. But not if it means living the same way as in Neolithic Britain. Great post by @reformparty_uk @Nigel_Farage

Present Trump’s remark was funny, not crass. The journalist asking the question probably thought it was a good one, but actually it ‘lacked depth of knowledge’ about war-footing security. You don’t give pre-warning of attack, to another nation for reasons of confidentiality and security So when a reporter asks the President, “Why didn’t you tell Japan before the Iran war?” It’s obvious why: And President Trump’s response was funny 😀 not crass.

When a headline uses specific words—like "crass" versus "witty"—to describe the same event, it can indicate a journalist or a publication's editorial slant or political bias.  It’s ‘Loaded Language’ words or phrases intended to inspire a strong emotional response and steer the reader toward a specific opinion. You don’t divulge your nation’s intent, or give pre-warning of attack, to another nation for reasons of confidentiality and security at @POTUS So when a reporter asks the President, “Why didn’t you tell Japan before the Iran war?” It’s obvious why: And President Trump’s response was funny 😀 not crass.

I was watching GB News when I heard President Trump’s witty response to a reporter’s question. It was humorous and made me laugh. 😀 The journalist’s who asked the question was probably confident in thier knowledge, but in reality lacked deep understanding of a nation’s need for strict security at times of war or planning of attack.

I was watching @GBNEWS when I heard President Trump’s witty quip. So funny.😀 Some journalists are overconfident in their knowledge, despite being uninformed or lacking deep understanding. So what do you expect when a Japanese reporter asks, “Why didn’t you tell Japan before the Iran war?” It’s obvious why: confidentiality and security at @POTUS

Some journalists ask (what they think is an intelligent question) but in reality it’s a daft one. So what do you expect from this - Japanese reporter, “Why didn’t you tell Japan before the Iran war.?” It’s obvious why: confidentiality and security at @POTUS
