ya know, I never understood how this can be seen as a “gotcha” does the way Christ look change His authority as God, or the words He’s spoke? is The Church supposed to just renounce the entire faith because Christ is a darker than how medieval Europeans depicted Him?

@orchidcide It rests with Him, ultimately. We can be certain that He's willing to lift us up again, when we falter. He Himself has made that clear, in dying for us. I pray your Easter proves brighter, despite how you're feeling now.

I’m going to cry, I love Jesus so much. I want to be with Him when I die but if I died right now I’d probably go to hell and I hate that. I hate my weakness and having ocd and I want to be better. There’s nothing I want more than to be with Him but I fail. Worthless bitch

@Jack_7752 The soul always wants more, even in matters of perfection and freedom. It's difficult to appreciate how far one comes, if the way is still fraught with pain and loss. These bodies of death tend to feel the latter, unfortunately. It will likely remain so, this side of Heaven.

@collinsgru I understand where you’re coming from. For someone who is a believer sanctification and turning from sin will be an evident process. I see many it seems, people fall in a place of despair when looking inward at themselves instead of seeing what’s been done.

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of people beating themselves up saying. “Lately I’ve been trying not to fall into sin, but I’m still doing so.” Our salvation was never dependent on us to begin with. Why do you think that was?

@Jack_7752 Fundamentally, if we trust and believe our hearts will change, then our habits will follow suit. What matters is whether you're willing to pick yourself up and go on your way, if you should fall. The fact we do fall shouldn't be surprising, even if it's disappointing sometimes.

@Jack_7752 I think many believe there should be a change of heart, which then produces different habits. To fall into old sins is discouraging, and such makes it seem as if we're not taking out service seriously. It helps to realize that change lies with Him, more than with us.

@KinglyPancakes Something anatomy-related, in the spirit of the season. Draw a set of hands or feet with implied holes. Perhaps even Christ in full robe, if you wish. But it's your decision.
