Twelve [12] of us were arraigned on Wednesday at the Nairobi City Court and charged with trumped-up charges. The remaining three [3], myself included, were not presented before any court of law but were instead handed over to DCI officers at Central Police Station.

12 of us will return to court on the 7th May, while the remaining 3 will appear before the DCI on 8th May. We ask for your support and solidarity as we fight for justice and for the right to freedom of expression and picketing, as provided for and enshrined in the Constitution.

After recording our statements, we were summoned to appear before them on the 8th of May. It remains a question to us —as it may be to many—why, despite being arrested at the same venue and for the same actions, we were treated differently. Both of our cases are ongoing.
