The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Kenya [@SRBinKenya], @DanijelaCubril3, has this morning paid a courtesy call to KAM. Speaking during the session, @DanijelaCubril3 noted that Serbia has a longstanding political relationship with various African countries, Kenya being one of them. At the moment, the country is keen on expanding economic relations with Kenya, by way of enhancing market access for goods & services between the two countries. KAM Chief Executive, @TobiasAlando, noted that the Association is open to working with Serbia to achieve this, as there lies a great opportunity for our Members to benefit from what the country has to offer, with regards to bilateral trade. Serbia also seeks to host a Specialized Exhibition, EXPO 2027, from May – August 2027 in Belgrade. Themed “Play for Humanity,” the Expo focuses on ways in which Serbia can explore the power of play (music, sports, culture & innovation) as a defense mechanism to overcome challenges in a world full of uncertainty. It is also designed as a platform for launching initiatives through networking and sharing of opinions, both between professionals and the general public. It is projected to host 3 – 4 million delegates from around the globe. #KAMTakesYouThere

Today, KAM Chief Executive @TobiasAlando spoke at the Kenya-Japan Business Forum, emphasizing the potential for stronger collaboration between Kenya and Japan. The event, which was attended by leaders from Kenya’s private sector, manufacturers, and Japanese investors, provided a platform for exploring opportunities to scale businesses through international partnerships. Tobias Alando highlighted Kenya's strong manufacturing potential as an attractive opportunity for Japanese investors. He emphasized the country’s access to over 50% of global GDP, thanks to preferential trade agreements such as EAC, COMESA, AfCFTA, and the EU Economic Partnership Agreement. Key investment opportunities discussed included: 🎯 Skills development to boost productivity, 🎯 Joint ventures to strengthen trade and investment between Kenya and Japan, 🎯 Technology transfer to support value addition, and 🎯Aligning agriculture with industrialization for enhanced growth. Alando also highlighted Kenya’s strategic advantages, including its prime location, skilled workforce, technology-driven economy, and robust infrastructure, which collectively position the country as an ideal hub for investment and industrialization. As one of the largest and most developed economies in the world, Japan’s well-educated, industrious workforce, coupled with its large, affluent population, creates vast opportunities for business expansion, partnerships, and investments. #KAMAdvocacy

KAM Ag. CEO @TobiasAlando participated in a panel session during the Africa Trade Development Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, under the theme Unlocking Africa's Potential through Digital Innovation. Hosted by @RwandaGov and @TradeMarkAfrica, the forum sought to accelerate trade facilitation and shape a strategic voice for trade across the continent. Mr. Alando emphasized the transformative potential of digital technologies such as IoT, AI, cloud computing, and robotics in revolutionizing businesses, enhancing trade, and creating employment opportunities. Drawing from successful models in Ghana and Morocco, he highlighted the importance of equipping youth and businesses with the skills needed to leverage digital trade. In Kenya’s manufacturing sector, initiatives like the Digital Economy Blueprint, Konza Technopolis, and industrial automation programs have laid the groundwork for employment growth through digital adoption. By fostering innovation through startups, enabling SME digital inclusion, and promoting e-commerce and supply chain expansion, digital transformation has introduced new roles and enhanced business capabilities. Mr. Alando reiterated the need for targeted upskilling and reskilling programs to prepare the workforce for emerging opportunities, ensuring Africa’s manufacturing sector remains competitive and inclusive under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). #ATDF2024 #KAMAdvocacy
