Tras su elección, señaló que su candidatura representa un movimiento articulado desde distintos sectores universitarios y destacó que el proceso interno fue “una fiesta democrática”.

Behind it lies a network of 23 Marxist, socialist, and anti-American organizations with international connections, including China. They use cultural events and humanitarian missions to legitimize the Cuban regime and push an anti-American agenda. The main organizer was Progressive International, a global anti-capitalist organization whose leadership includes British MP Jeremy Corbyn and former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, who describes himself as an “erratic Marxist” or “libertarian Marxist.” Their manifesto openly states, “Elections are not enough; revolution is needed.” They are closely connected to several other far-left organizations spreading Cuban communist propaganda. The People’s Forum in New York, which received over $20 million from China-linked sources, acted as a foreign agent, funding activists with anti-American and anti-Israel agendas. Code Pink organized a trip for 100 participants, delivering 6,300 pounds of medical supplies to Cuba, with each participant paying $1,600 to join. A significant portion of Code Pink’s funding came from donors connected to China. There are credible reports and ongoing investigations that link Neville Roy Singham to funding both The People’s Forum and Code Pink. Singham provided tens of millions of dollars to the People’s Forum over several years. Code Pink has received funding linked to Neville Roy Singham. Since 2017, around 25 % of Code Pink’s donations, more than $1.4 million, came from groups associated with Singham, whose wife (Jodie Evans) is a Code Pink co‑founder. Singham is an American-Sri Lankan tech entrepreneur and a communist who is now based in Shanghai and is closely connected with Chinese state media and influence networks. His estimated net worth is above 1 billion dollars. Also, among the participants of the People’s Forum in New York were prominent activists and the children of U.S. politicians, including Isra Hirsi, daughter of Ilhan Omar, who previously took part in protests supporting Hamas. The network has a long history of organizing protests against the U.S., including support for Maduro, anti-ICE rallies, demonstrations in support of Hamas, and mass unrest in Washington in 2024. Overall, these are not random humanitarian trips but a coordinated campaign to promote propaganda, leveraging international connections, cultural events, and financial backing to strengthen the influence of the Cuban regime abroad.
