@RickyCast7 @TheClickPit That tag is attached to a lot of non-AI real art all over the app, the AEW graphics are some of the many pieces of art that are occasionally wrongly tagged. This app is a mess and often labels things incorrectly.

@TheClickPit Just that AEW gets a pass for using AI and WWE doesn't which both should be fairly criticized for that's all

The AEW fanbase is the worst type of thing to happen to the wrestling side of twitter like you can't even call out the things you don't like from that company without them making fun of your appearance and calling you names

@BlackHatPRO_ Andrade left on far better terms, has direct connections with multiple partner companies of AEW, and most importantly he's just a better worker. Tommy End of 2015 rocked, but he hasn't done much in terms of work since before the pandemic.

@chrisobread I'd be curious what you think is shallow about it, I think there's a whole lot there, both in character/story and craftsmanship

@chrisobread Probably the most copied and mimicked movie of the last 40 years, Marty's directing and editing here ushered in the modern landscape in a big way. Triumph of this movie is making you feel the way the characters do - its an intoxicating, flashy, flourishing ride, luring us in.

@SuitWilliams Hall no doubt, late NJPW Nakamura is up there, RVD during periods of his career, Onita, Road Warriors in the 80s, Flair in the 80s, Rock in 99/00/03

I have an interesting question that I'll sit on the table for everybody: Who is the coolest act in wrestling history? Hogan was 80s cool. There's Scott Hall and 2 Cold Scorpio for the 90s. There's a strong argument for LAX. Gimme some names.

@georgelanc25 He's not wrong in this instance, I think most people only know the modern wrestling landscape of the WrestleMania era because thats the history WWE has taught us. It's like the idiots claiming Chelsea had no history pre-Roman, which is nonsense, but most only know the PL era.

@VicLombardi Because Durant played 78 games, and a healthy Durant covers up a whole lot of the holes left from injuries and horrible roster construction

@ThatWrestlePod @TedFromThePWO Some people are just better fits in different styled environments. We've seen this run both ways with WWE/AEW, we've seen it with wrestlers thriving in Japan who never did well in America we see it with Mistico being a god in Mexico but just not working out in WWE, etc.

Told my homie that passively watches wrestling Danhousen was one of the most over people in the WWE and all he said was “of course he is”. Lmao. Been laughing at that since yesterday 😂

@MikeyRukus The footsteps aren’t the issue, those are legal and just players evolving to make the most of the rules. It’s the carrying on dribbling that is the most sketchy with regard to older rules and standards. 90% of common dribbles would have been carries years ago.

@MikeyRukus Players got far more efficient at stretching the rule, legally, and over time it just became more and more common due to natural skill evolution and rule clarifications to match it. What you’re seeing is fully legal now, but would have likely been penalized 40 years ago.

I’m watching a basketball game for first time in nearly 30 years… honest question, do these mfs pretty much travel on every play now and it’s just not called? Or have they changed the rules for them to do the triple jump every chance they get? 😂

@comahan @DynastyOmegx @LyricWrestling Deathriders Mox is #1. Turned himself into something that had genuine heat (in an era where that has become a rarity), reoriented the fed around the chase, culmating in the incredible 2nd half and end of the reign. The main driver for AEW's recent recovery.

@DynastyOmegx @LyricWrestling Omega had the really good matches, but also had the belt collector stuff, a lot of great heel Elite stuff, and the big standout story with Hangman which turned Hangman into *the guy*

@DynastyOmegx @LyricWrestling Swerve as a wrestler was absolutely fantastic in 24, but i think his title reign was just solid - good Collision match with Claudio, good DoN defense against Christian, then great Ospreay match at FD and great Danielson match at All In. Good matches, but no real standout stories

I think it's perfectly reasonable to believe Darby is a worthy world champion while still being flabbergasted by how it happened. That's really my only take for now. Congrats to him. It's been a long time coming.

@7700saint I think its definitely his best AEW promo, he had some post-match and press conference gems in Japan, but as far as an in-ring AEW promo goes, that was his best. Also helps that he looks like one of the biggest stars of all time when he's in a suit. Suit Omega goes crazy.

Kenny Omega coming out and saying that he wants the diverticulitis to stop being a focal point of his career among commentary and the fans at this point because while he appreciated it at first, he’s tired of it being a crutch is really neat. I think that that was one of the best Kenny Omega promos I’ve ever heard. Wow.

maybe i'm too pretentious and too confident in my own interpretations, but i genuinely believe that someone who sees asoiaf as "fundamentally pessimistic" did not comprehend the books on a basic level
Fandom Pulse@fandompulse

Brandon Sanderson on why he would not finish George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones even if he was asked: "I wouldn't say yes to finishing ASOIAF, if asked. (And I don't think they'd ask me.) I'd respectfully decline. I wouldn't be right for the job for many reasons. I wouldn't want to put in the content that the series has, and part of that is due to my religious faith, part of it is just who I am. I don't shy away from difficult material, but I prefer not to get explicit. Honestly, when I read it in George's work, I often just cringe. I don't think it fits in prose; I think it looks tacky. But that's almost 100% due to the my religious leanings. I realize that others don't read such scenes in the same way as I do. However, I'd suggest that this is actually a minor reason why I'd be a bad writer on this series, despite having enormous respect for GRRM and his talent as a storyteller. The primary reason has to do with fundamental optimism vs pessimism. I write darkness into my books, but it is darkness as contrast to light, and there is always a spark of hope. George's work seems fundamentally pessimistic--which I don't say as a slam. One of my favorite short stories is Harrison Bergeron, which is also fundamentally pessimistic. Saying George's work is pessimistic doesn't mean that HE is pessimistic, only that he creates a work of art that evokes emotion and discussion through pessimistic themes. As a comparison, I'm glad that Silver Age science fiction produced both Harrison Bergeron and Star Trek--but I'm Star Trek, not Harrison Bergeron. Calling me in to work on this piece would be like calling in Spielberg to finish a Tarantino film. (Not to imply I deserve to be ranked with either one.) Sure, he could do it, but wouldn't you want someone who themselves makes films with Tarantino-like themes? My work is also fundamentally different from George's in our use of magic. We've talked about books, and he points out (rightly) that I often use a heavily magical component in my stories--particularly the endings. This is because I'm writing science/magic hybrids, and the idea of magic as progress is fascinating to me. George, however, prefers his magic to be arcane, unknown, and dark--not a tool, but a force you can sometimes (with great danger) apply. This is a small issue, as I'm fond of books that use magic differently, I've just made a stylistic choice in how I do what I do." Do you think this still holds?
