@johnnelbabe You’re welcome. Yes, how much the audience—which ranged in different ages—responded to the group as if it was 1972 again and how it wasn’t lost on Marlon and Tito who acknowledged the fans with genuine sincerity and appreciation. It was very moving and a great show to boot.
@combs_lana Thank you for sharing this. Knowing that he was there for that J-5 show and would’ve been there for Micheal too makes it hit different. R.I.P Tito. Of all the J-5 show you saw with him, is there one moment from that Cache Creek night that still sticks with you?
This was the last J-5 concert I saw with Tito. It was at Cache Creek, in Brooks, Calif. in 2022. I wish he was around for the “Michael” premiere. He would have been so proud having been one of the executive producers. R.I.P. Tito!
Why is Tito always the punching bag? Bro played his instrument, did his steps, stayed in the background and played big bro. He was completely unproblematic 🤣
His kids, went on to form a somewhat notable singing group called 3T, that had a minor hit or two.
I don't get why people always dump on Tito
is anyone else noticing how time no longer feels normal? the days vanish and then the weeks blur together. everything is so much faster. something is wrong.
I lived it too! Met Michael and the J5 on a couple of occasions and attended my first concert at age 11 when they played the Fabulous Forum in LA. I I reviewed the movie for my Website N2Entertainment.net and saw it two more times with my husband and by myself! The mid 60s and 70s were fantastic for me and the Jackson 5!
I asked my dad to go see the Michael movie he said he doesn’t have to watch that bc he lived thru it. I said damn u think u better than us cause u were around he said yes.
I still can’t believe Scott Jennings last night on CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip told one of the guests panelists to get their “F- - - - -g” hand out of his face! I guess you can say and do anything on TV now!
Hello again, everyone. I’m back, and so is Michael Jackson.
The phenomenal biopic “Michael” from director Antoine Fuqua is a bona fide thriller and has become nothing short of a cultural phenomenon.
What many critics dismissed, audiences embraced in a massive way. Fans showed up in force—often decked out in their flashy Michael Jackson gear—to celebrate the life and legacy of the King of Pop, and they made history doing it.
With a staggering $97 million domestic debut, “Michael” didn’t just top the box office, it shattered expectations, becoming the highest-grossing musical biopic opening of all time. It officially outpaced the 2015 hit biopic “Straight Outta Compton,” which opened to $60 million, proving that the King of Pop still reigns supreme.
“Michael” stars Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson and he delivers a breakout, electrifying performance as the icon himself, alongside a remarkable turn from young Juliano Krue Valdi as little Michael. Together, they bring a legend to life in a way that’s captivating audiences everywhere.
Internationally, the movie has done bang up business too opening to $120.4 million. Combined with the domestic gross of $97 million, “Michael” has made an impressive $217.4 million.
Holding down second place was Universal Pictures’ “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” with $21.2 million. Ryan Gosling’s space adventure “Project Hail Mary” finished third ($13.2 million). It was followed by “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” ($5.6 million). A24’s “The Drama” rounded out the Top Five with $2.6 million. Since its release, the quirky and intriguing movie has made a tidy $44.8 million.
Here is what is coming to a theater near you and what I will be reviewing.
“THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2” (In Theaters May 1.)—The long-awaited sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada” (2006) reunites Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, with new additions Justin Theroux and Kenneth Branagh. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” follows the evolving world of high fashion as it collides with the digital age. Years after her time at Runway magazine, Andy Sachs (Hathaway) is drawn back into Miranda Priestly’s (Streep) orbit as the industry faces disruption, forcing former rivals and allies to navigate power, reinvention, and ambition in a rapidly changing media landscape.
“FUZE” (Currently In Theaters)--Since I was at CinemaCon I missed reviewing “Fuze” in time, but it’s an exciting, British crime thriller that is worth seeing. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sam Worthington, and centers on a high-stakes operation in London after an unexploded World War II bomb is discovered in the heart of the city. As authorities scramble to contain the threat, a group of criminals sees an opportunity in the chaos, orchestrating a daring heist under the cover of mass evacuation, where shifting loyalties, ticking clocks, and mounting tension threaten to derail the plan at every turn.
I will have reviews of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” and “Fuze” posted to N2Entertainment.net on May 1.
