@errantp @leftwick20 they exaggerate (or rather ignore the lack of) infill development in major metros too though. austin should be a lot denser, other big blue cities couldn't replicate its model the same way

But if the biggest complaint is that rents went up 3.5%/yr, your problems are not huge

@savanarola5 @constans once the supply-side issue is corrected rent should be pretty stagnant, well below 3.5%/year. especially since the population will probably stop growing/start declining in the next few decades

@savanarola5 @constans if a city like minneapolis (already relatively affordable, too) could see rent declines just because of a frankly modest increase in supply, i'd say most cities across the US should see rent declines if they seriously built out supply.

@Colin_d_m biggest missed route is the Bronx to Queens and Brooklyn without having to transfer in/transit through Manhattan since that transit doesn't exist here, the subway, or even the planned IBX route imo

@umichvoter East New York and Brownsville are great. Up and coming, lots of good restaurants. Would recommend East Harlem around 125th street for the same reasons
