I honestly thought many times if I should post this because as a commissioner myself, I do not want to ruin anyone’s name or reputation. I know how hard freelancing can be and how important trust is between a client and a commissioner. However, I also cannot measure the inconvenience, stress, and disappointment I experienced because of the unresponsiveness and missing output. Storytime: I had a personal task that I could not accomplish on my own due to my back strain. Because of this, I planned to commission @academicsbyyuri to help me with it. The deadline we agreed on was today at exactly 8:00 AM. She assured me that she would send the output before or at the said deadline, so I trusted her and sent the full payment in advance. The 8:00 AM deadline was very important and strictly scheduled because I needed to print the output before going to my class. The subject where I needed to submit it is my first class of the day. The printing shop is walking distance from my school, but my department building is quite far from the main gate of the university. That is why I specifically needed the output by 8:00 AM so I would still have enough time to print and go to class without being late. Unfortunately, when the deadline came, there was no message, no update, and no output sent. I waited and tried to contact her multiple times, but I received no response at all until now. Because of this situation, I had no choice but to talk to my professor and ask for extension of deadline. Sadly, my professor is very strict with deadlines and policies. Since I was unable to submit the requirement on time, I was given a 0/100 for this final assessment. It was honestly very heartbreaking for me because this is the first time I have ever received a zero on an important academic requirement. I understand that emergencies or unexpected situations can happen to anyone, but what hurt the most was the lack of communication and responsibility. Even a simple message or update could have helped me prepare or find another solution. I am sharing this not to spread hate, but to raise awareness and remind commissioners about the responsibility that comes with accepting a client’s work and payment.
