The Competition Tribunal is this afternoon hearing a proposed merger involving two of the world’s largest health and wellness companies, Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Kenvue Inc. The proposed merger is an international transaction.
The Tribunal is hearing oral submissions from the Competition Commission and the merger parties. The Commission (which investigates and assesses large mergers before referring them to the Tribunal for a decision) has recommended that the Tribunal approve the merger, subject to conditions relating to employment; small, medium and micro enterprises (“SMMEs”); and historically disadvantaged persons (“HDPs”).
