The irony to me… That Cael Sanderson recruited David Taylor to help build up the dynasty at Penn State. Only for Taylor to one day leave to try and create a program that takes down Penn State.

All these public schools who want to run from the smoke by making separate section away from “non-boundary schools” are cowardly to me. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. Simple as that. I applaud the public schools who aren’t afraid of playing anyone.

I have no problem with Messenbrink here. It is not a nice thing to do, though. That’s ok. Wrestling is not a nice sport. But walking up to seven people whose dreams were just crushed to be like gg thanks for trying isn’t wholesome it’s antagonistic. Nothing wrong with that. People have this idea that wrestlers are supposed to be these choir boy types. That doesn’t align with the nature of the sport.

After the at-large selections the Big Ten conference has 95 wrestlers of the 330 field. Seems a little egregious.

The blanket “reaction time” is ruining this sport. It was laughable to wave this off the scoreboard. If this isn’t a takedown then no action late in a period is anymore.

I'm split on this. While the math churned out some things that look nonsensical, the formula was known last summer. Go earn what you need to earn.
If you don't have 15 matches over a 4 month season wtf are we even doing? That's a you problem.
This formula, at least in theory, will make guys wrestle more next season.
Let's be honest, the regular season is a freakin shell of itself compared to 15 years ago.

Is the big ten smart enough to completely scrap the new criteria and adjust? Pushing for athletes to wrestle conference duals and get a record against the field is great in theory, turned out to be a disaster in practice.
