And away we go.... 1st day in the field for the @OxUniEarthSci 1st year field course in Arran. Old Red sandstones to kick off.... slightly inclement weather...

Heading North! 1st year field course on Arran starts today but a long 12 hours of travel first.

That time of year when my favourite tree in the garden comes into full flower.. Spring is here.

It’s not a common garden defeat, but one in the best tradition of Scottish football. A proper soul crushing hiding, a disastrous thrashing. From a Calvinist view point, it was predestined. Now for the next game, remember it ….

Peak Oxford…. Crowds gathering for May morning.

The bell ringers afterwards were in peak form!

Slightly surreal and spellbinding at the same time. I had the privilege of seeing in May morning from the top of Magdalen tower. A once in a lifetime experience!
