Guys real talk, has anybody actually ever landed a learnership at @SasolSA? It screams nepotism to me, though I have no solid proof yet. How is it possible to keep getting rejected for this basic learnership for more than 6 years? 🤚🏽😭

@HoLeeSheet123 @Amahashi_ @SasolSA I hear you. Thousands meet the criteria, and this is not unique to entry level positions. We recently advertised for a senior comms specialist and we got over a thousand applications for that as well and that role requires 9 years experience along with relevant qualification.

This is unjust MJ, Sasol is a cornerstone of SA’s economy, yet they reserve significant entry level opportunities (internships, jobs, graduate programs) for people in or near specific fenceline communities (like Secunda, Sasolburg) excluding the rest of the population who live elsewhere. It’s exclusion presented as noble “community prioritization,” but it discriminates against those from underserved provinces with no equivalent industries or prestigious employers. Even if relocation is possible, why make location the deciding factor? And seriously, why behave as though only those local communities prop up the business? The entire country supports @SasolSA every day: through purchases, taxes, national growth, and reliance on their energy/products. Hoarding jobs for a handful of areas ignores that broader reality and limits real access for most South Africans.

@thibotsar @gugumfuphi @KayaON959 Hi. MJ from Sasol here. Fuel pricing is regulated so if you're seeing discrepancies in the same province on petrol please let me know which site and I'll investigate. Diesel isnt regulated so it will differ from individual retailer to retailer
