🥊 Even in training, your brain is at risk. U.S. military service members routinely participate in combative training to maintain mission essential skills. The brain doesn’t know context, it responds to force. Small decisions add up. That’s why every team needs a recovery plan.

Your Brain = Your MVP 🏈 Every throw, sprint, and catch depends on split-second processing between your eyes, inner ear, and brain. Even mild hits can disrupt it before symptoms appear. Your brain drives your game. Protect it.🧠

Excellent advice @concussion_org … making the right decision is so crucial in the best treatment and outcome. Delayed diagnosis and treatment often leads to prolonged recovery and possible permanent post-concussion issues like chronic migraines, visual and cognitive deficits.

Brain health is at the forefront of @WHO's policy priorities. Why? Neurological conditions now affect more than 40% of the global population, according to WHO's report. Many of these diseases are treatable or preventable. It's time for our brains to get the care they deserve.
World Health Organization (WHO)@WHO

WHO urges governments to: ✔️ Make brain health a policy priority ✔️ Expand access to care without financial hardship ✔️ Promote brain health across the life course ✔️ Strengthen data systems & monitoring ✔️ Involve people with lived experience New report bit.ly/4oj81yH

⏳ Not everyone recovers quickly after a concussion. A meta-analysis shows 31% still have symptoms 3–6 months later. Headaches, brain fog, mood swings — these aren't “just in your head." That’s why early follow-up and structured rehab even when symptoms feel “mild" is smart care.

🚨 Think you’ll know right away if it’s a concussion? Think again. That’s why experts recommend monitoring anyone with a head injury for at least 24–48 hours, even if they “look” fine at first. When in doubt, sit them out. Early care = safer recovery.

🪖 Up to 23% of deployed service members experience a TBI in their career — and most occur during routine training, not deployment. Even mild TBIs can impact mental health, readiness, and long-term recovery. 💡 Early recognition and complete post-concussion care save lives.

🏈 Youth tackle football players (ages 6–14) sustain 15× more head impacts and 23× more hard hits per season than flag football players. Even without concussions, repeated hits affect long-term brain health. 📄 Read the full CDC report: cdc.gov/traumatic-brai…

What does post-concussion life really feel like? You can’t see it on an X-ray. You can’t tape it up like an ankle. This is what a concussion feels like. One day at a time. Every person’s journey is as unique as their brain. Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all.

🧠 Resistance training can protect the brainby preserving memory regions (hippocampus, precuneus), strengthening white matter integrity, boosting growth factors (BDNF & IGF-1), and lowering dementia risk.

No one sees it. No one else hears it. To the world, you look fine. But in your brain? It sounds like: 🔊 Ringing 🔊 Static 🔊 Echoed thoughts 🔊 Overwhelming noise This is what many can experience during post-concussion recovery. Concussions aren’t always visible, or quiet.

After a suspected concussion, here's what you should NOT do! Concussions are brain injuries. You wouldn’t “walk off” a broken leg, don’t walk off a brain injury. Concussions need care, not courage. Early stages of recovery can be critical in defining the outcome.

🇺🇸 “I thought it was just PTSD. But it was more than that.” TBIs can mimic depression, anxiety, and mood swings—but the root is neurological.🧠 Not every symptom is “just PTSD.” Sometimes it’s neurons misfiring from blast exposure. Veterans deserve real answers and targeted care.

⚠️ 🧠 A second concussion before full recovery can trigger second-impact syndrome. While rare, it may result in lasting impairments in memory, attention, reaction time, and can even be fatal. 🎯 Don’t rush the return. Rest protects long-term performance. concussion.org/news/coach-com…

🧠 Brain injuries don’t happen in isolation. Mission readiness doesn’t end at discharge, and neither does the impact of a brain injury. Families absorb the after-shocks: night-time vigilance, role shifts, emotional whiplash. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

You can’t always see a concussion. But the symptoms? Very real and frustrating. These aren’t quirks or bad habits—they’re your brain waving a flag that something’s off. Left untreated, they chip away at your focus, memory, decision-making, and confidence. concussion.org/news/coach-com…
