@Nigel_Farage @RobertJenrick @Nigel_Farage your bid to do “whatever is necessary to defeat the left” appears to be a) abandoning your constituents by resigning as their MP to try and halt scrutiny into your £5m bung from a Thai-based billionaire, and b) facing electoral defeat by a bloke dressed as a bin.

The next election will be an existential fight to save the country we love, a mission I have now been fighting for over 30 years. After two national election victories in as many years, many people now recognise that it will be a binary choice between Reform UK and Labour. With the prospect of an early general election increasingly likely, it is natural that people from across the political spectrum are considering which side of that fight they intend to be on. Patriotic voters believe in many of the same things, but only one party truly has the possibility of delivering change. To deliver that change, I understand Reform UK will need the support of people from other parties, as well as millions who have never voted before. That is the broad coalition I am building. Over the last 18 months, I have demonstrated that our movement will always be open to anyone who shares our commitment to restoring Britain’s borders, rebuilding our economy, renewing our democracy and putting the British people first. My previous history in politics has also shown that I am always prepared to put country before party, as I did in 2019. But I will never turn my back on my team. There will always be a home in Reform UK for those who believe that 14 years of Conservative government, followed by the last 2 years of Labour, have failed the British people... and that our country now needs a fundamentally different direction. I will continue to do whatever is necessary to defeat the left and provide Britain with the strong, serious leadership it deserves. This is the last chance for our country, and we cannot afford to waste it.

@TiceRichard Likely because Reform isn’t a political party, Richard. It’s a limited company designed to mobilise hate, do favours for billionaires and extort cash from credulous corners of the electorate.

Not one Tory politician or supplier of dodgy PPE has done time for the VIP Lane scandal. But a fair few should probably be behind bars.

@PippaCrerar Doesn’t this just show how few supporters Reform actually have? They need to divert a small bunch of racist pensioner reactionaries and brainwashed young white men to Clacton to fight for their dear leader against a bloke dressed as a bin.

EXCL: Reform UK activists have been urged to divert from Greater Manchester mayoral byelection to support Nigel Farage’s contest against Count Binface. A WhatsApp shared with party members in NW reads: “We now need all of our fantastic activists, branch officers and councillors to come and help us in Clacton.” Scoop by @JoshHalliday theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

NEW: Reform are announcing an overhaul of ridiculous government contract rules to cut waste and back British jobs 🇬🇧 Under rules created by the Tories in 2012 and kept by Labour, companies must show how they: -create positive action programmes to promote diversity -work towards net zero emissions and influence their customers to do so too -develop ‘inclusive’ hiring practices -provide help with English language proficiency -raise awareness of modern slavery, including by running online campaigns and working with NGOs. And much, much more nonsense… These rules influence how hundreds of billions of pounds of YOUR money is spent. Since David Cameron’s Social Value Public Services Act was introduced in 2012, eyewatering amounts will have been wasted on nonsense that doesn’t benefit the British people. A Reform Government will scrap the social value test and focus on two things: -creating jobs and investment in Britain -delivering value for money for you, the taxpayer We will unashamedly back British firms, buying British wherever possible. And our plan to simplify procurement will cut out the distractions so that companies are focussed on the things that matter. This will make it a level playing field for smaller companies to compete against big corporations again. There will be plenty more reforms to come in this place from @danny__kruger as we ramp up our plan for government.

The walls are closing in on @Nigel_Farage and not before time. This shameless, hate-pedalling and wealth-obsessed conman has grifted his way through our politics without any form of decency or respect for the rules. Well done @thetimes for its proper investigative journalism.

Sad echoes of @andyburnham’s disastrous “heart of Labour” leadership bid in 2015. London’s not buying your un-mandated vibes, pal. You and your little coterie have turfed out a statesman, a leader and principled PM who put his country’s interests first. It’s not going to end well

@Nigel_Farage You broke it Nige. With your lies targeting the credulous. Britain is broken thanks to grifters and charlatans like you, @michaelgove and @BorisJohnson who sold a knowingly false vision to the electorate. BTW, what was the £5m gift for?

Andy Burnham talks about restoring faith in politics, saying that people will rightly ask “what hope can we have that it will be different this time?” “Westminster hasn't been working for people. It hasn't been working for a very long time. In fact it is broken,” he says. 'We can’t go through another decade like the one we just had. We need a new determination to raise living standards. We need to change politics and we need to do it now.” Burnham warns that his generation of politicians hasn’t been honest, and has engaged in “finger pointing and point scoring” - which is “dangerous and destructive” of public trust in politics.
