While spending precious time with my family this Christmas season, I have made the decision to suspend my campaign for Governor and will not seek re-election to Congress. I did not come to this decision lightly for our family. I am truly humbled and grateful for the historic and overwhelming support from Republicans, Conservatives, Independents, and Democrats all across the state for our campaign to Save New York.   However, as we have seen in past elections, while we would have overwhelmingly won this primary, it is not an effective use of our time or your generous resources to spend the first half of next year in an unnecessary and protracted Republican primary, especially in a challenging state like New York.  And while many know me as Congresswoman, my most important title is Mom. I believe that being a parent is life's greatest gift and greatest responsibility. I have thought deeply about this and I know that as a mother, I will feel profound regret if I don't further focus on my young son's safety, growth, and happiness - particularly at his tender age.  I am incredibly grateful to the people of New York's 21st District for entrusting me to represent you in the United States Congress. Thank you to my dedicated staff over the past decade. I am proud of the significant results that we successfully delivered for the hardworking families in our district and across America. It has been a tremendous professional honor to serve as your Congresswoman over the past eleven years. Thank you for your support and encouragement as my family and I look forward to the next meaningful personal and professional chapter.  God Bless and Merry Christmas ✨

Charlie Kirk told me last month what his mission was: "My job every single day is actively trying to stop a revolution. This is where you have to try to point them towards ultimate purposes and towards getting back to the church, getting back to faith, getting married, having children. 
That is the type of conservatism that I represent, and I'm trying to trying to paint a picture of virtue of lifting people up, not just staying angry."

Charlie Kirk was a close friend and a special human being. He played a significant role in helping President Trumps’s 2016 campaign, building and fostering the MAGA movement. When I was in the White House, established organizations often complained that we kept doing events with Charlie, to which I would reply “he comes with big ideas, is easy to work with and always overdelivers.” To me, Charlie represented the best of MAGA. Firm in his beliefs, compassionate, curious, and respectful. He had huge allotments of courage, charisma, and character. The world lost a powerful force today, way before his time.

Charlie Kirk was 31 with a wife & multiple children.. I am 31 with a wife & one child. It’s crazy to me that someone on the right who is proud of their family values could be gunned down in broad daylight by an assassin, simply for speaking their mind. What has the world come to?

The Worst Governor in America @KathyHochul's hand-picked appointees just approved a huge rate hike that will cause your utility bills to go up. It's bad enough that Kathy Hochul's out-of-control spending, bloated budgets, and radical energy policies created an affordability crisis in New York.  Now Hochul's rate increase makes it even harder for your family to pay bills.  The Public Service Commission members are selected by the Governor and she owns this painful rate hike.

Recent youth violence in Albany has many residents on edge. The County is doing what it can to stem this crime wave, but we need help from our state lawmakers, city officials and the entire community. Read my op-Ed in the Times Union Sunday edition: timesunion.com/opinion/articl…

It also doesn’t help that @MayorSheehan is lobbing blame on County officials who have gone above and beyond to help fix the mistakes of her failed administration. If you’re not going to be part of the solution, you’re part of the problem!
