Honestly I’d go one further. Expand it to all 211 teams. You could do the group stages locally/regionally for logistical reasons. Best 32 teams from the group stage make it through to the ‘finals’. Then hold that in one country with a group stage/knockouts. Everybody wins 🙃

Currently watching back Leeds vs Newcastle and as much as it lacks entertainment… it’s tactically interesting. The consistent praise I’ve had for Farke is how he creates midfield boxes without the ball to pin teams back & therefore create without actually having the ball - this was super impressive against Everton 👍 However, against higher opposition I’m yet to see how Leeds are going to properly utilise their strong point (the midfield) Obviously their teams against “higher opposition” have been pretty extreme - two top midfielders and top UCL competing sides. Trying to think of some ideas to how Farke can find a solution to still control the oppositions build up like he attempts vs lower sides with the counter press.
