We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our former CEO, colleague, and friend Andrew Dougal OBE. As CEO of NICHS from 1983 to 2015 he was a passionate advocate for people suffering from chest, heart and stroke illnesses and he leaves a lasting legacy.

John Simpson died today after a long illness. A @BBCnireland sound engineer for 37 years, he was one of the most brilliantly creative people I ever met. Anyone who knew him as a friend, as I did, was immensely blessed. My thoughts are with his beloved (and amazing) wife Denise.
