Due to severe injuries sustained at a GAA Football game in September, one of our players Brian spent a number of weeks in CUH. We have set up a go fund me page to help Brian. Please see attached.

Some great clips from yesterday, but this from @Armagh_GAA’s social team is the best of the lot.
Encapsulates the emotions of the players and the crowd all in one.

The biggest problem with Inter County management or coaching is it’s a closed shop everywhere, nowhere worse than Cork.
No motivation for people to be successful and move up the ranks.
An inexperienced coach or manager who was a county player will get a massive jump in the Que.
And to be perfectly honest to, most of them are out of their depth. There are notable exceptions, but the vast majority while sometimes decent managers, 90% are hopeless coaches. There is nothing stopping a county player becoming excellent at coaching, but many are not willing to put in the dog years. The best coach I know is an All Ireland winner, but still remarkably is not involved and is kept out.
That’s a harsh reality.
Administrative people then go for names, most have no idea what they are actually looking for.
Cork is the prime example. No interest in expertise. No interest in challenge, no interest in learning, no interest in people outside the small cartels.
Afraid of progressiveness. I hear about it in other places too.
Some people find it so hard because they don’t actually know what they are at and spend too much time on things that are unimportant. To be fair to them also though, having spoke to some about what is expected or out at their door, is not the responsibility of a manager whatsoever, and it’s a County Board abdicating responsibility. Again, that’s widespread.
And this is the endless issue with amateurs looking for professionals.
So this will be an on going issue for many places.
