Make that 18,000 BC Conservatives have now voted. Roughly 69% turnout for eligible voters.

I thought I’d put out a friendly reminder to everyone in this race and our members, that we will need to figure things out post election. Probably some compromises between different factions. There will have to be apologies most likely. Let’s take a breath and lower the rhetoric. It’s all good.

Silencing Voices: By blocking this motion, the NDP is silencing the concerns of British Columbians who deserve to have their property rights protected. 2. Lack of Accountability: This move showcases a failure to hold the government accountable for addressing the urgent needs of citizens, especially those vulnerable in our communities. 3. Erosion of Trust: The decision to shut down the motion undermines public trust in our political system. Leaders should be listening to their constituents, not shutting them out. 4. Standing Up for Rights: Motion M212 is about empowering British Columbians and ensuring their hard-earned homes are secure. The NDP’s actions only show their fear of addressing the real issues affecting our province. We must continue to fight for transparency and the rights of all British Columbians. Let’s not be silenced!

Almost 12,000 BC Conservatives have voted in just the first day of voting. At this rate, we are heading for a very strong turnout. People are energized for change in BC! 💪

LEOC STATEMENT: Regarding Federal Probe into Kerry-Lynne Findlay LEOC has a duty to be open and transparent with the membership of the Conservative Party of BC. Since learning this week of the federal investigation by the Commissioner of Canada Elections into Kerry-lynne Findlay for breaches of the Elections Act, the Leadership Election Organizing Committee (LEOC) for the Leadership of the Conservative Party of BC has repeatedly reached out to the said investigators from the Commissioner’s office, but has received no response to date. Further, LEOC has repeatedly reached out to Ms. Findlay’s campaign to provide information and cooperation in understanding what this investigation entails and its merits, if any. Repeatedly, Ms. Findlay has not provided any substantive response or cooperated. Nonetheless, to date, there is not enough credible evidence to take further action. Our goal is to provide the membership with as much information as possible and to act in the party's best interests. This has been, and remains, our goal. We continue to request that Ms. Findlay provide any information and clarity on this Federal investigation. Voting will open on Saturday, May 23, at 8:00 AM with five contestants on the ballot. - Leadership Election Organizing Committee

CBC Entertainment used your tax dollars to humiliate RCMP officers. They hired a fake production company, flew retired and serving RCMP officers across the country, put them up in hotels, told them Prince William was coming to honour their service. What those officers walked into was a staged ambush. A fake video of King Charles announcing the RCMP would be dissolved played in front of them while cameras rolled. One veteran said the production deliberately targeted officers with mental health struggles. The National Police Federation is now demanding a federal inquiry, calling it exactly what it is: Canadian taxpayers funding the deception and public shaming of the people who spent their careers keeping this country safe. Who approved this? Who signed the cheques? And why is anyone still waiting for answers?

Primary care access is extremely important but so is specialist access. The sickest patients are the ones referred to speciality care. Track 1 wait time is the time from referral from primary care to speciality care Track 2 wait time is the wait time from speciality care to treatment. So when I asked the Minister of Health during estimates if she was tracking wait times from referral from primary care to to speciality care (track 1 wait times) this was her answer: "As the member knows, wait 1 is physician to a specialist is something that is happening in one physician office to another physician office. Physicians, typically, independent contractors, aren't part of the public system in the same way that has enabled us to have a line of sight into that information. As the member knows, wait 1 is not regularly tracked for most specialities, but for surgical specialists, the province does track both wait 1 and wait 2." The sickest patients are waiting months and years to access speciality care in BC and how can this NDP government plan resourcing decisions without this data? There is no logical reason they can't collect this data. Either they don't want to know or they don't want the public to know.

The NDP made BC so unsafe that small businesses are hiring private security just to keep their doors open. Now they're taxing that security. I asked the minister how expanding the PST on essential security services helps anyone. He talked about red tape and skills training. He had no answer. Small business owners are already saying prices are going up. The NDP did that.

MLAs @elenoresturko and @amboultbee are endorsing Eby’s assault on democracy instead of standing up taxpayers. British Columbians want Bill 9 defeated. Not managed through committee with the help of independents. Shame.

@BindaCarson @elenoresturko @amboultbee Incredibly disappointing to see Sturko and Boultbee sell out a key tool in the fight to hold governments accountable. I sadly expect that kind of undemocratic behaviour from Eby, Sharma and the NDP. But those 2 "independents" should know better.

I hope NDP MLAs are proud tonight as they dismantle their own party’s FOI legacy. Here’s Mike Hartcourt in 1991: “We will bring in a freedom-of-information law, not an access-to-information law. I think that shows the difference between the New Democratic Party and the Social Credit government. They talk about access, and it’s almost a grudging word: we may give ‘access’ to citizens. We believe in freedom of information. It’s your information, the citizens’ information. It’s not our information.” Carole James in 2008: “We’ve seen freedom-of-information laws ignored and disdained by this Premier. We see new bureaucracies created with no oversight, little public accountability.” John Horgan in 2015: “I think all British Columbians should be concerned when their government hides things from them.” “The whole point of having access to information is so we can all make reasonable judgments about the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of our political leadership.” David Eby in 2026: ~shuts down debate to kill FOI at 3:41AM~

The Conservative Caucus of B.C. unequivocally opposes the NDP’s Bill 9, legislation that further restricts the public’s right to access information and weakens government transparency. This government continues to dodge accountability, shut down scrutiny, and concentrate more power in its own hands. That is why we introduced a hoist motion to suspend this bill for six months to allow for greater consultation. If the NDP wants to force this through the Legislature in the dark, we are prepared to debate it through the night and beyond. We will continue fighting for the people of British Columbia day in and day out.

The NDP’s Bill 9 makes it harder for British Columbians to access records from their own government. Less transparency. Less accountability. More power concentrated behind closed doors. That is why the BC Conservatives introduced a hoist motion to suspend this bill for six months and allow for greater consultation. If this government wants to force Bill 9 through in the dark, we are prepared to debate it for as long as it takes.
