@gmiller Like maybe you are gambling on the exchange going like 'can we meet at X at Y time?' and them going 'yes' (quicker than a phone call), but obv it isn't always that easy
When making social plans that involve meeting at a certain time & place, young adults will often trade 30 texts over a 15 minute period, when they could have settled everything with a 45-second voice call.
Why? Make it make sense.
@chrisgardenuk maybe:
-pleasant housing
-not living paycheck to paycheck/you feel like you have a buffer or support network
-nice food
-spending money on fun stuff and nice luxuries regularly
@reasonisfun I'd guess maybe (a) assuming they won't understand stuff that's not telegraphed (they literally can't speak language fluently) or (b) matching their energy, if the child is being playful
This is Halloween in Latin fucking slaps!
There are several references to Greek & Roman mythology in the song like Hekate, Pluto, and the titular Mundus Pateat.

@LuxAlptraum In the same way that corporations, religions, states etc have hierarchy (some people officially, by rule, have more power or are more important than others), whereas 'this random person in the friend group has more social status/respect' is imo not hierarchy in the same way
@LuxAlptraum I guess I don't see that as creating a hierarchy? Or like... I don't think that's what hierarchy *means*. Like, that's just a strange way to frame that sort of difference, or something?
@Lavender_2115 Yeah something trans/gender-related was on my radar as a good thing to cover, the sort of idea I want to write about - both (a) practically helpful and relevant and (b) theoretically interesting to dig into. Will DM you
IDEAS THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE: new project idea, looking for contributors and feedback.
I want to interview people about specific ideas that changed their life, then write posts based on that.
Would you like to be interviewed about an idea that changed your life? (1/?)
@HamishDoodles I guess also that it wrestles with the contradiction of an anarchist society: like, where does archism creep in? So I didn't read it as just a deconstruction of utopia but also an exploration of a paradox
@HamishDoodles I like the world-building, basically; like all the little details of 'how do they think, what is the culture like'. I do think the plot/story arc is not the best (climax/end feels a bit weak?)
My plan is to do 3 of these as a pilot and see if it works, then continue if so.
Lmk if you are keen to be interviewed about an idea that’s important to you!
Also if you would be excited to fund this, let me know. This would mean I could prioritise it more.
In our interview, I’ll try to get a really deep understanding of the idea and how it affected you, even if that means going down rabbit holes. In the post I’ll prioritise clarity, (relative) brevity, helping others understand.
