Her name was Maria Landenburger, a 19-year-old medical student from Germany. One day, while she was in a park, she was attacked by an Afghan migrant, Hussein Khavari. He chased her, pushed her to the ground, and knocked her off her bicycle. As she lay there, he strangled her and repeatedly raped her before leaving her unconscious on the riverbank, where she ultimately drowned. Police later identified him through DNA evidence. He was eventually convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for rape and murder. It later emerged that, before arriving in Germany, he had already served time in Greece for attempting to rob and murder another young woman.

However, almost all of the human race was immersed in extreme poverty for most of human history. If wealthy people have obtained their wealth by honest means, issues of proportionality are irrelevant. What they do with that wealth is a moral issue for them and not a legal or political matter for anyone else. The solution to poverty is to make poor people un-poor, not to make wealthy people un-wealthy. Please pray for my 12 day old son, Maddex. He has been admitted to childrens hospital for a tumor in his kidney and we could use all the good thoughts and prayers we can get. It’s looking like he will need surgery to remove it. I can’t imagine my life without him in it we are so devastated by this news and just hope for a full recovery. Thank you 🙏🏻
