@SneakEasyArt @EZFooly That’s not even remotely the same as this long speech about how good he is. That was like three lines
English

@contxtsonic @EZFooly Someone hasn't played Sonic Adventure where he starts harping on about Chaos' feelings while he's *drowning a city*.
English

Im so tired of Sonic fans making this point cuz comics are a visual medium that are able to use less or even no words at all

English

@SneakEasyArt @EZFooly He has NEVER given a speech like this in the games
English

@contxtsonic @EZFooly Sonic has never been defined as someone who doesn''t talk much as an actual charactrt trait. This is not even a thing in the games, which can have Sonic be wordy.
English

@contxtsonic @EZFooly they do in fact don't talk like that in the show, similar to how Spider-Man doesn't talk like this on any other place outside of the comics itselfs.

Disagree with this notion comics/manga need lengthy dialogue to convey complex emotions or ideas. This single panel from Dragon Ball conveys very complex emotions with no dialogue whatsoever

English

@Gumidess @EZFooly Im sorry but no they do not 💀 there is never any reason for a character to change hoe they talk between mediums and outside of sonic i dont think anyone experiences that kind of change. Characters might talk more or have longer conversations, but only if it fits that character
English

@contxtsonic @EZFooly Because comics can do silent panels (or some comic writters use less text), but pretending that comic books aren't a medium that values exposition is ignorant of how comics work too.
In general, characters speak differently in comics than they do in other formats
English

@Danny8bit @PersonthePerso2 I don't think people realize how counterproductive it is to trivialize the entire medium in their attempt to defend one single story.

completely unrelated to how any of y’all feel about how #50 is written (very played out discourse, imo), all I’m gonna say is
sonic fans, please read more comics besides just sonic……

English

@Gumidess @EZFooly There are just as many panels and maybe even full pages with no words at all in all of comics. Darth Vader fo example only ever speaks when he needs to he’s not very talkative. Do you think star wars comics make darth vader talk a lot more or is he still written like vader?
English

@contxtsonic @EZFooly Yet, Comics do this.
Character will generally speak thrice as much on comics compared to what they do in shows.
This is a product of the medium, being more exposition focused.
If this was on the Simpsons, this page alone would be half an episode with how much text it has.

English

@MCUWasNeverGood You’re telling me that the character who’s name is MJ Watson, who’s the girlfriend of Spider-Man, isn’t MJ Watson until the day she decides to take up acting
English

@contxtsonic The Watson stuff could be telling of an evolution but it was stated that the name stuff is just an homage and that she's an OC
gonna need more evidence like her becoming an actress or something to actually indicate she's meant to be an adaptation
English

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall Im sure the avengers did what they could but what i mean with superman specifically is he can clean everything up by himself in no time at all like in MAWS and that’s one of his core traits outside of MoS
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall Sure but that is a matter of preference and not a critique on the logic or quality of the film. The avengers never clean up after themselves either and they all have far more experience than Superman does at this specific point in the story.
English

god, sci-fi blockbusters and disaster movies post 9/11 really loved showing swathes of innocent people getting killed. they only really stopped after man of steel was the first to get criticised heavily for this

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall I understand, i could even see him flying through the cylo by mistake, and i even agree superman battles do cause damage regardless of whether he directly flew into the gas station or not. But the real mess up is that he doesn’t clean up the messes he caused or isn’t shown anyway
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall My point is that in that moment you aren't concerned about where you are falling. You're concerned about stopping your mother from being assaulted.
English

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall You could make the argument that he can see and hear with his senses that no one’s in immediate danger here, but that should be told i agree this is a mistake
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall Here's Superman DEFINITELY NOT making a giant crater in a populated city
English

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall It’s not like Superman to view a small town, especially one he grew up in, as just chairs and tables lol
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall This is the proportional equivalent of someone assaulting your mother and in an attempt to put some distance between her and the aggressor you knock over a couple chairs and a table.
He has never fought anybody before. He discovered he could fly a day before the fight.
English

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall Yeah but it’s like, common sense to not fly to a populated area? Like no adaptation before or since has had this issue, because it doesn’t take super powers to be considerate of others. He’s also HAD these powers forever. He’s not new
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall The cape didn't come with a 'how to be a superhero 101' tutorial. He's Clark, a man that is protecting his mother from being assaulted.
English

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall Because Superman would still keep in mind the towns folk, he’s not like a parody superhero in the boys, he always keeps everyones lives in minds and understands he cant let lose in a world made of glass
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall Sure. If he was thinking strategically that would've been a good idea. Except he wasn't thinking clearly or strategically. Zod was hurting his mom. So he tunnel visioned, this isn't a hard concept to grasp I don't understand why you're being so obtuse about it
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall He's not trying to stop flying. He's putting distance between Zod and Ma Kent. He is being emotional and reckless. That is the point of the scene.
English

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall He cant like… stop flying? Like ive heard this argument a million times but funny how snyder’s clark is the only one where this has to be brought up. Is he just the only one with an incompetent and reckless superman starting out?
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall Grain silo. He's never been in a fight before.
If only there was a movie that dealt with the fallout from man of steel where the public distrusts him?

English

@Richochetdesign @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall If superman in a moment of rage wasn’t thinking about the people around him in his own hometown and didn’t even stop after flying through a giant plant, everyone has every right to fear him and his recklessness
English

@contxtsonic @brnluj2 @FijolesDemonic @jeremylovesyall In a moment of rage in which he was trying to get him as far away as he could from his mother. No one except the military died in Smallville.
