I think we can infer from Rory's comments today — and tweets by a handful of others last night — that a lot of players were not happy last night that the R&A delayed sending out tee times for so long while Bryson's penalty was sorted out. "To hold the tournament hostage like that, and to have all of us, players, volunteers, everyone waiting on him to depart, I didn't feel like it was a great look," Rory said.

Rory's just described Bryson's actions last night as "performative" and they "took the tournament hostage" - delaying Rd.3 tee time and keeping staff and volunteers on site for longer than necessary.
